Unless they chase you, I'm not bothered... ... So yeah, not down with anything too mobile.
These things make webs on ceilings so dense you can't see through them.
Except for at a certain angle.
When you realise you're looking down a goddam homemade barrel and they are sitting in there like some spiky spider bullet ready to just SHOOT OUT AND INTO YOUR FACE.
They are nightmare fuel. Come to Africa and see if you want to play. I'll watch.
The video.

I don't know what these are called but they are all over the damn place.
The small one will fill you palm.
The small one.
One of the bigger species of Golden Orb Weavers.
They're pretty chilled usually. Had to remove one from the garden once (to the neighbours down the street *ahem*) and it was pretty low key about it. Seemed happy for the ride on the broom head.
A Huntsman would have run up the broom and had a go at my face.

Hey, if something's a danger to me, I'll fear it. I just don't have the phobia. I'd rather watch than play anyway - never felt the need to hold spiders unless I have to move them.
I never seem to get time anymore, but one of my favourite things to do as a kid when the opportunity presented itself was watch a spider make a web. Hypnotic.
Dethtoll - small and jumpy = fine. Big and jumpy? Yeaaaahhhh...NO.

Got a bunch of daddy longlegs living in my pc case right now, love those things catch lots of little flying things like midgies and mozzies.
Huntsmen - fuck off.

It was only last year that I finally completed it with the Arx Libertatis mod. It vastly improves the mouse input and spell casting, among other things.
Strictly speaking it's a source port, not a mod. Not only have they made the game cross-platform (and generally running nicely on modern hardware), but they've fixed a very impressive number of bugs in the game, including some really long-standing issues. I would think it's simply the way to play Arx now.

Any modification of a game is a mod, but I see that you only wanted to say a few more words about why Arx Libertatis is awesome (which it is.)

That's a golden orb weaver. I remember having a large grey orb weaver next to my front door bell when I was living in Brisbane. I'm generally not a great fan of spiders but I let it stay as it helped reduced the number of door-to-door salesman brave enough to approach my house.

I don't think so. They are black on top and they live on ceilings.

Look at the web colour - definitely a golden orb weaver.
They're named for the web, not the abdomen.
They're pretty placid as far as humans are involved, so wouldn't bother me. It's the ones that are big and skitter about all over the place that I tend to give a wide berth. Most spiders are pretty mellow and only bite if you reach into a cupboard and happen to disturb them or similar.
