There are mines which work pretty well and fire arrows. Flashbombs unfortunately have no effect.
Theoretically you can also "whack" those guys with you sword, but I don't recommend it.
Zombies need 4 or 5 proper hits to go down, never tried it with a haunt.
a head hit with sword kills them instantly as long as they are unaware. The one hit kill on the head worked for me also when AI is aware but it doesn't block sword. Doesn't matter if it is a side hit as long it is on the head.

This mission is a real masterpiece! :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky:
I really suggest to try this mission to taste how good and mature it's now TDM.
Awesome moments (creeeeepy and with all the features of TDM on... so new cool zombies, terrorific Hunts, objects with PHISICS, REAL SUPERCOOL MANTLING), real horror and excellent gameplay. The sotry is simple (this is a short mission) but effective. The incredible thing is that this mission was developed for a contest, so with a short time to finish it!
My uber congratulation to Sotha, for his work. This is and incredible example for all FM mapper.

Just done a
very rough count and there may be up to 16 entrants! I'm going to be very conservative and call that 10 with 6 fuzzy. This doesn't include other FMs that are being developed.
Wow, I was wondering this too, that's a terrific turnout even if it's just the 10! But I'm wondering why this one wasn't saved and released after the deadline with all the others, as is typical for contests.

I've just started and this is dripping with atmosphere, my kinda FM. Already loving it! I need it to be darker so I can play it more.

This is such a good FM, I'm loving it, and had to play it a bit this morning before work!! I don't do that too often. The climbing was a challenge, finally made it inside, love the zombies, and the haunts, nicely done. Working my way down the stairs, only got busted once. Enjoying it immensely!
I too got stuck at the very beginning, which wasn't a big deal, had to reload. A couple of the zombies are getting stuck in the doors, I just open the doors for them.

This is just me, doing it rather informally with no previous experience. Somehow when I was dromeding I was always so busy building I never got much time to look at how contests were organized!
So contest FMs are released as they are finished. Actually this has the advantage of spacing them out rather than too many all at once. :)
Anyone is free to run a contest of course if they can recruit entrants so maybe future Dark Mod contests will be different.
BTW a better count gives 8 entrants plus 8 fuzzy. So the fuzzy is even more fuzzy. I feel sure some of those will surface later so everyone wins. :)

Perhaps we'll hit a total of 40 missions in existence for TDM by year's end. :) That would be great! I've actually played all of them. There are 4 or 5 I haven't finished yet though.
I think there are currently 25.

Here are a couple of screen shots from the FM. I LOVE these shots. I killed two haunts with a fire arrow. Two more showed up, and I dropped a mine, backed away, fell into the water, when I came out of the water, I saw this guy on fire from the mine. How cool is this! Love these shots, I've got more, and took a succession of them, if you scroll through quick enough, looks like he's moving. :D

I also love the sound the Haunts make when they see you... very loud and attention getting! It made me jump the first few times... just like the monsters that appeared at the end of e1l8 in Doom 1.
