Excellent video!!! Great Work guys:thumb:
Just to understand the level size; after those caves, will there be different loading when player enters the mansion?
Nope. So far, it's all one level.
With this map, we're trying to stress test level sizes to see just how big a map can be...and what types of systems can realistically play it.
Currently, it's still pretty raw and unoptimized, so there are areas that will drop in frame rate. Over all though, once it is properly optimized and vis-portaled, I think it will be playable on systems that can run doom 3.
There are small sections of the journey edited out to keep the video of reasonable length. So I'm sure you can imagine how long it would take to actually traverse the path to the mansion.

How big is the mansion?
Can't really say for sure...but big, maybe 2/3 floors and a basement. Still a bit to be finished on it though.

Very impressive. Quick question: When the final version is released is it going to ship with pre-made levels or even a mini-campaign? I'd hate to have to wait for an FM to be made. The Dark Mod has me drooling all ready.
As *Zaccheus* pointed out, we will have some demo missions available at the time of release. We have some beta mappers already learning the tools, so there will likely be some more missions trickle out shortly after release there as well. :)

Well I'll certainly be damned. :ebil:
The Dark Mod just bought itself all the time it needs to polish this baby. Considering the nature of Looking Glass' past, this is easily one of the best efforts of any fan community of any time. The engine allows the atmosphere to have time to sink in. I'm very glad to see that the sound is *exactly* the way it should be (considering placeholders). That is a big step right away. How easy will it be to make a Mission for Dark Mod.

:wot: I cannot but be amazed (and I'm usually not easy to impress)! I especially liked the sleek, minimal interface with all the essentials concentrated at the center. Thanks for all the hard work so far!

What codec are you using? I can't get the high res video to play without a heavy green distortion.

How easy will it be to make a Mission for Dark Mod.
I would say it will be easier than working with either Dromed or T3Ed...but...that still doesn't make it easy. :) We're doing our best to ensure that the other part of the project, "Dark Radiant", provides as much functionality as possible. Having said that, we could really use and extra experienced programmer or two to work on Dark Radiant, and allow our seasoned programmers to devote more time to polishing the mod ....and specifically, the AI. It's a big task, and they still need a lot of work.
Using xvid 1.1

That's looking just great, you've got the atmosphere and feel down pat. Nice job so far!

Damn. I'm impressed. Easily the kind of work that, once released, should guarantee industry jobs for those of you that want them. December '08 seems further away than it already did.

Very impressive.
