Hey all,

The large rocky are looks a bit well er not so good
Yeah I have to replace those. I made that part a couple of months ago but am not happy with the way the rocks look. I'm planning to change it so no worries there.
Everything in the video is from the one single map. I had to record myself running through it quite quickly to avoid it bloating to an hour, so moving through the areas I am not careful etc. Since I made it, it probably looks like I know it too well, as in I know when a guard is coming up etc.
The mansion itself already has 2 main floors with the main rooms fully mapped out but not yet optimized, along with a back to the mansion and an area below the mansion. In the final build, the map will start off on a mountain in an Inn. From there you go through mines in the mountain, then through a forest, then through the areas seen in the video, and finally through the mansion.
Eventually it should be gigantic, and will all be the one map. However for a playable version I'll probably break it up into 3 parts (so that loading it up doesn't take an hour).
Also, currently it uses 2565 entities out of a current limit of 4096. As mentioned a while back we can change this limit but do not know if it would cause bugs etc, and also we do not know what to put the limit to. Huge maps like Greebo and Angua's Bonehoard and my Blackheart Manor (in the vid) should hopefully help determine this value.

Looks very promising!
Any chance i could get the team to reconsider the Mario Bros item pickup sound? Just the arrow rubbing/knocking sound is great.

Simply awesome! It had to take a LOT of time and work to get DM to this state.
Respect to you guys working on it! :thumb:

The sounds are not well polished at the moment. As was stated before, if people would like to join the team, they are welcome to. We can not only need programmers, but also sound engineers, mappers and artists in general as well and specifically we also need animators. ;)

I am still waiting for all the guys who just said that they didn't like TDS's Pagan levels...now that this one looks just like the Jacknall's Paw mission. :sly:

Oh thats so extremely awesome! But I did expect that from the Dark Mod. :D
Its really nice to see that pagan-like levels can be done with the dark mod, the entrance to the manor feels a bit like the maw if you ask me, and everything looks soo thiefish.
One thing I also noticed is that the arrows are faster compared to TDS, as a professional composite-bow shooter the animations of drawing the bow and releasing the arrow looks very realistic to me. Iam so glad that you didnt make the unrealistic ''swirl'' sound of arrows which made it into many medieval games, let alone the blue line arrows made in TDS!
BTW, I hope the legendary glowing shrooms make it into the mod too. :p
