Since everybody's got the Editor, there's not much chance of a good Dark Project remake being available, is there?
If not, is there much chance anyone is working on it?

No part of this sentence makes sense.

Noope. But you can start on it today.

We've been told by various sources (LGS, ION Storm and otherwise) over the years that porting T1 missions into T2 for online distrubution is not allowed.
It falls under the same category of porting Thief Gold misisons to Thief 1 (or 2).
I'm not fond of it either, but that's how it goes.

Although I guess we can no longer pose the question to them, it might be interesting to ask if it would be legal to distribute such a remake with instructions for modifying your T2 darkinst.cfg file in order to play. In other words, design the missions to utilize resources from both installs. That would make the most sense anyway, since it would be ridiculous to redistribute the T1 snd.crf, for example, with the pack due to its size, and this way you'd be able to effectively require the player to own both games to be able to play the remake.

I think such a project isn't a popular idea also because it would take a lot of work to create something already made, when that time could have been spent on something new. There are fan campaign projects already out there that could really use the help aside from this.
Also, The Dark Project is one of those classics that will probably lose some of its charm if it is jammed into a new context, sort of like remaking the movie Casablanca in color.

It would be cool to do something like that with the DMoMM engine since it feels very DarkEngine alike and allready has most of the stuff needed like rope arrows and such, but i think that will never happen.

Well, Arkane isn't working with Ubisoft anymore, so I don't know how much good asking for an editor would be. Besides, I think it was made painfully clear that DM fandom hasn't exactly taken off at TTLG.
I think that an external app that allows people to play both games using the T2 engine would be fine... maybe some type of batch file to package a mission as an FM, but that sounds like really tricky business.
On the other hand, a "re-imagining" of Bafford's in T2 that actually didn't use any content from T1 sounds legit, and could be really cool.
