No pity for widescreen users.

They also made Pariah, right? I thought that was a great game. Wasn't mind-blowing or revolutionary, but was just fun as fuck. Had a really nice map editor (on PS2/Xbox no less!!!) that to date has only been bested by FarCry Instincts.
Anyway, based on their legacy, I want to give it a shot. I will be playing in 4:3 if I need to. I have a 12:10 TFT and a 4:3 CRT, so I can use whatever the fuck I need to.
Seems to me that forum was a whole lot of whining about a little vert. stretching. Really, it is not the end of the world.

Well except proper widescreen support is achieved with a horiz+ FOV and the fact that the original console versions were designed for 16:9 ratio displays makes it even more inexcusable. This is frigging industry standard stuff, the team porting it really dropped the ball. Those complaints are entirely legitimate and shouldn't be brushed off as whining.
I for one am not supporting these poor development efforts and thus I've ordered the Xbox 360 version.

Yes.

Hmm, I played the game on 1680x1050, looked fine. No noticeable stretching.

Yeah, I just was saying that this kind of stuff (LAZY ass porting)is becoming more and more common on PC, but in the grand scheme of things it isn't the end of the world (compared to some of the more ridiculous, recent ports) . I respect your decision to buy the version that they spent more time on, and would do the same, exact thing.
