After I downloaded "Gathering At The Bar - for Thief2" and attempted the mission, Darkloader frequently crashes to the desktop, regardless of the mission I play. Is this an isolated experience or have others come across the same problem.

It's not just that particular mission that's the problem. It was there that the problem started. Other missions that worked before are now crashing whenever I try to load a saved game, but not all the time. Sometimes it behaves itself.

Hey, if its anything like i experienced last week, it was when I decided to upgrade to directx9.0 AND install the latest video forceware drivers from nvidia.
What I got was Darkloader loading blackened dark SCREENS
SO, I had to do a system restore and the problem was fixed.
And that was only after i spent over 2.5 hrs screwing around troubleshooting all the other possibilities that didn't fix a thing in the beginning.:mad:
I still don't know which update initially caused the problem.
My first thought is thief TDP getting pushed back in the stone age now? Will dark loader and TDP have compatibilty issues with the new system upgrades?
Its like trying to get DOS games to run in XP (=but would you want to?=)

Hmmmm.....I've been using Directx9.0 for quite a while now without any issues. And I haven't updated my nvidia drivers either. So far, the problem seems to be isolated to Thief/Darkloader. I re-installed Darkloader and that hasn't helped. Unfortunately, it has erased all my "last played" information, so now I have to comb through 163 Missions to find the ones I haven't played yet. I'm trying to find a mission from long ago that causes a crash, but it looks like (so far) only NEW SAVES are corrupted. So that's where I stand now. Not all "new saves" causes a crash at re load, but all crashes occur at "new saves". I'm still troubleshooting.

I just had this problem today after I reinstalled Thief 2 because I was getting messages that some dll were missing. I will try reinstalling Dark Loader too.

Darkloader is old. Use FMSel or NewDarkLoadrer, they are much more reliable and current.
