Deadman, I agree it is an excellent mission.... indeed it's been a year for excellent missions so far (may that trend long continue).

I played RG about a month ago. I thought it was great.:thumb:

really wanted to get some recognition for the designers achievements, and to point it out to taffers who haven't played it yet.. :nono: :( *sniff* Maybe they think I was promoting it by wishes of the designer (which I assure you I am
not.. It would make me feel better if more respected it). Too bad.....
deadman.
p.s. Or maybe people don't like me (and I'm new too!) :p ;) Anyway, thanks.

I agree it was a great mission. Deadman, I think you pointed something out that needs considering. These FM authors do a great deal of work, and release their FM's for free. We get to download them, play them, own them, for nothing. I'm sure that when an author of an FM releases a mission, they are at least hoping for some praise, thanks, and recognition, if not holding their breath for it. It must be disheartening if an FM author gets socked, or just as bad, ignored. Here's a grateful thank you to all FM authors for hours of enjoyment and intrigue.
I felt parts of the mission seemed like the outdoors part of Constantine's mansion, and other parts felt like Shipping...and Receiving. It also had some flavours of LOTP, city part to it. Yes, you are right, this was a great mission, and the author deserves praise for it.
To Hidden In Shadows I say, very well done, excellent mission, and thank you!

Hmmm...what can I say?
I'm not very good with words...but...thank you. This all makes me feel warm. I can't thank you people enough for playing and saying your word. It's always as fun to read that someone has played TRG as I believe is with other authors when they hear people have played what they've worked so much for. What Uncadonego said is true, praise is indeed that which gives us even more motivation to continue. But, naturally we search for well grounded praise and critique. At least I, for I can only speak for myself in this world of men, think that it's very important that those who praise that they don't hype. (I'm not saying anyone does, but anyway)
What I mean is that you can tell us just what you feel about a certain mission, or at least you can tell me because once again I can't speak for everyone. But I think many have the same paths of thought in this matter. We want to hear it all, if possible. If you think something's bad you can go right ahead and tell it. But also if you think that somethings great, well, you can tell that too.
Well, I'm not all that good writing these nice here posts but I hope you understood something of what I said. I didn't want to sound discouraging or anything if you took it like that. All I'm saying is that be honest. Praise when you feel like it and criticize when there is need. That way everyone knows and some things can be made better.
You know this post is starting to sound very formal to me now so...thanks to you all very much. I can't even begin to describe the good feeling that I get from reading your words. Very encouraging.

Directly I was trying to get anyone who enjoyed TRG to come out of the shadows (and some exposure for those who haven't played it) but indirectly I meant just what you said: Giving FM authors some recognition and praise for their many hours of toil with sometimes unsatisfying results. (and all basically for
our enjoyment) I seem to have failed to bring any attention to
The Royal Garmyth, but at least I succeeded in getting some well-deserved praise, and I hope it will help
Hidden in Shadows persevere when they sometimes feel designing FMs is a fruitless venture.
I wrote this because I think some of the architecture is stunning and unique.. And I want to see more of it. If this helps in any way I'll feel a little less guilty for taking up the time of the author (the long nights and spare hours) .. Thanks for reading.

[Folks]
I fulfilled all the objectives (except for returning), but I only have three of the four secrets, and I haven't found anywhere to use my rope arrow yet. These two conundrums may be intertwined.
Let's see... I frobbed an unlit torch to open (I think) a crawlspace; I opened a grating in the dirt in the Officer's Garden; and I flipped a switch in a room that opened a slot in the floor with lots of loot and a note from some lieutenant about a plot by his sergeant and two other guys under his command. So which one am I missing, and would that account for the missing 195 loot?
And where do I use that piece of equipment mentioned in paragraph 1?
I was able to stack crates and climb up through the hole in the ceiling next to the glass door, near the two patrolling guards and the stationary guard (near the street with the spiders and all the boxes). But now that I'm up here, I can't get onto any of the surrounding walls, and I can't find anything to do up here. Ack!
Thanks,
Dafydd

I can tell you where to use that piece of equipment you asked for: It´s near the spot with the sewer spiders in a dark alley with a barrel on the left side. Look up and you see what I am referring to! But you will need to stack some crates too!
But nevertheless I have got the same problem: I can´t find the fourth secret! Perhaps somebody can help here?
