Oh hells yes. Apocalypse level games in a SC mod would be awesome.

Which, on a side note, would be totally fucking awesome.
Indeed- it probably wouldn't require too much in graphics and model work, since most units would be so small by comparison.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about that tbh. If the units are small wouldn't that mean less detail? If so wouldnt that go against everything DoW was supposed to be about?
Whenever you look at screenshots or w/e for DoW you always see the visceral bloody battles from close in. when playing however I usually find myself with the view maxed out, which kind of annoys me too. I find it hard to direct a battle when I'm zoomed in on my kroot tearing some SM's apart.
It was the same in homeworld. Ambivalence is a bitch really.

I don't know if you currently play 40K, DaBeast, but they've recently put in place a new play system called Apocalypse, which basically involves mad numbers of minis in open battle (like, 10000 points per side type things). As a result a lot of the huge and formerly Epic-scale stuff like titans are getting 40K-scale releases. :D That's sort of what I was meaning.

I'm aware of the play system, I have some of the codex's and I even bought a Tau starter set (£80  ). I painted 2 or 3 models and haven't touched it since :).

Hah, I just Ebay pre-painted figures :p I just wasn't sure if you were, as I was until recently, a former or current player.

You mean pro-painted, which invariably means 'prostitute-painted' rather than 'professionally-painted'. I hate having to strip paint.

Much more fun if you paint em yaself

Oh, I'm not stupid enough to think that pro-painted actually means that; to be honest, I tend to avoid any auctions that include that phrase. Something like (

I'm not sure I'd ever get the time to paint and assemble anyway, hence going for the ready-made option.
