So, the new patch, 1.7 has completely new server-side architecture, which translates into INSTANT loading times. No more waiting for server response.

I'll be playing again soon, I just need something a little relaxing after pouring myself into it so completely recently, hence Civ.
But instant loads sound awesome. Of course, it'll probably just translate into servers filling up even quicker.

Since I'm having a hell of a time connecting to the servers, I think I'll give this game a rest until it's in beta. It's not as if I haven't got 4-5 other games I'm currently playing...

Since a while back i've been playing on servers using the latest Arma 2 beta patch, they don't suffer the kind of load that most servers do so i haven't had problems for a while. :)
They also have more regular players so they have a better sense of community as well. :)

Sorry for my total DayZ absence, lads. Been pretty hectic these past few days, but I'm back in Monterrey for the time being, so I should be downloading the update and poking in to see what fellow TTLGers I find to hang about and shoot zeds and bads (bandits).

Well I dunno about these other guys but I hop from server to server as circumstances warrant. And I use Steam chat to coordinate.
Been a while since I got on, think I might do that today while waiting for the phone company guy.

We usually just message each other when online on Steam (add cherryheat or "juuso"). I'm up for games today.

Aha, i've only really used steam to download games so i never have it running. (I use a custom launcher to start Day Z) :)
Maybe i should check it out then and become a steampunk too ;)
