How about some daylight based missions? It would be a relief to escape the perpetual Darkness of Deus Ex.

I kinda found Deus Ex to look better at night. Also, there wouldn't be that many dark areas to hide behind, making sneaking more of a pain in the butt.

You're right, it would make sneaking more pain in the butt, but realistic and exciting as well. It would make you be EXTRA alert and on your guard. Play NOLF, and one mission you have to sneak around in an office building in the middle of the work day...it's very hard and you have to keep your silent weapons handy. You can't blow your cover, or you the mission is failed, therefore you cannot shoot any weapons.
This is something I'd like to see as well, the Daylight missions that is. I would like to see some, or at least one Daylight mission to break up the monotony of the dark. Besides, what difference does it make that it's sunny outside and you're sneaking around Versalife? Sure, there'd be more people, but that's it. This is just one example. MJ12 anyone? Would it make a difference if when you exited MJ12 and UNATCO HQ that it was Daylight outside?
I would also like realtime changing of time. For instance...maybe you get to a site (maybe a stakeout or something) and the sun is setting, but you have to wait til full darkness before making your move, because of tight security. ISA could design it so that you have about 10-15 minutes that the sun is going down, and in this time you could be planning your mission, or doing something else. Here's another example. You've got 25-30 minutes before whatever said group or individual locks onto your position. Jock, or whomever flys you in. The sun is setting. You've got to off 1, or maybe several individuals and get the hell out before night time sets. The reason? They'll lock onto your position, and the group/individual who does will proceed to take you out. There are many ways you could do up the scenario. Maybe Jock tells you you've got so long before a certain radar or beacon picks him up. Maybe he tells you that you've got to be out of there no later than 5 minutes after pitch dark do to the said group/individual having stealth craft that patrol at night.
Nevertheless, dusk, dawn, or in the middle of the day...daylight would be nice in DX 2.

I don't believe I made it to that mission in No One Lives Forever... But anyway, I still think it would take from the feel of the game. Deus Ex 2 having some daytime missions, that is. Just try and imagine some of the missions of Deus Ex in daylight. Don't you think you would get a little different feel to the mission? And, I liked the feel you got with all the missions being night time. After all, they probably did have a reason to making them all night missions in the first place.

I'm sure you would get a different "feel" to missions, but a daylight mission would be designed differently to cater the gameplay & the "feel" of the mission to the daylight setting. You wouldn't just change the lighting levels in a pre-existing mission.
Daylight would add greater diversity in "feel" gameplay and the themes highlighted by the action.

Fanatix,
Did you even read what I posted above, because you're not making full sense? How in the heck did you know it was Night time when you were in Versalife? You really didn't, because you were indoors. Sure, an employee or two references it being late, but other than that, Versalife is lit up. So what in the heck are you talking about Day time missions detracting? Again, this is just one example.

Sorry, BackDoorBandit. I wasn't exacly commenting your post. But, yeah, I wouldn't mind having some indoor missions that have day time. But, about my last post on this topic, let me give you a small example. Okay, imagine the Warehouse mission (The second mission), just imagine it in daylight. Now wouldn't you find the mission better if it was night? Well, then again, most of sneaking and fighting in the mission did take place indoors, but still... But, amazingly enough, I didn't think of this, but as RePlay said, they might design the missions to fit at day.

Why must there always be sneaking? There are other ways to get around and get things done - subterfuge, bluff, and so on. I not only would like to see a little daylight in the game, I would like to see JC gain entry to people and places with a little human engineering... faked IDs, bluffing, forked tongue, physical threats and intimidation, posing as someone else, and so on. Always sneaking around in the dark of night doing breaking and entering jobs makes a UNATCO agent seems a bit one-dimensional ... only thieves do that sort of thing day in and day out ;).

The dawn levels at Vandenberg were quite impressive. I believe that playing during the day would detract from the dystopia of the universe.
