Here's pre-alpha footage of DayZ Standalone.
Summary:-
* Overhauled inventory system
* New art assets and animations
* New crafting system
* A lot of new enterable (is this even a word?) buildings for looting
* A focus on weapons and equipment available to civilians for increased believability
There's talk of alpha-funding (

Is he being a huge asshole? He seems mildly annoyed with someone who is mouthing off in typical "I'm from the internet. I'm here to help!" fashion ("firstly, you're doing everything wrong! Your organisation is put together wrong, your workflow is wrong, your approach to marketing and audience outreach is wrong. Luckily I'm an expert in all of these things!")
I can how that stuff would get annoying after a fairly short time.

Eva's the classic "you're doing it wrong" type so yeah it's easy why he would think Rocket is an asshole.

One really interesting mechanic which will drastically change gameplay is that the upper tier-high powered weapons, like military snipers and assault rifles, will have limited spawns across the WHOLE HIVE. Which means say a weapon like a DMR might have only 5-10 instances of it in the whole world. If you get hold of one of these sort of weapons, then you damn well arent gonna give it up easy.
Also weapons themselves will become items that can degrade and take damage. These changes should pull the game back in the original direction rocket wanted, more about survival and player interaction (imagine a tense trade meeting between 2 groups - do they have a sniper on overwatch?).
I've already spent 300+ hours on the original mod, I can see this taking away all my free time.
