DDFix and Enhanced Resolution Patch (including widescreen support) - by Nameless Voice

maxres is 2048*2048, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, it just occurred to me that it could be a limitation in the max resolution allowed by ddfix. In which case that explains why it is not working.

Ugh, I've got a problem. I've got a new netbook w/ GMA 3150 and my install of Thief 2 (Ala Tafferpatcher, which I've grown rather fond of) won't run properly as videos and the menu are all just a black screen.
It's a bit annoying. Any ideas on what settings I need to change? :(
UPDATE: Nevermind. After fiddling with the settings, I found the game runs fine @ 800x600. But it's annoying me that the earlier attempts at running @ 1280x600 were fruitless. I mean, those are above the minimum requirements of the resolution patch right? What gives?
Wait, now that I think of it, could I use the old widescreen patch while still using 1.5.11/12? I know that old patch was capable of running some wicked resolutions.

Hello guys, when I try to execute the prepatched thief.exe file, it says please insert the CD into the CD drive...I did full installation and with the original .exe the game starts and with the hyperthreading issue solved.
Any solution? Thanks.

If you have the original CD or the installation folder you can use TafferPatcher latest version to install Thief 2 which will AFAIK prepatch the exe to not need the CD. I would recommend TafferPatcher regardless, it's an awesome program AND it comes ready to install all the high poly models, textures and skies.

<STRIKE> I just bought a new monitor (wider than the one I had, with desktop resolution at 1366x768 ). The problem is I can only run Thief 2 at 1024x768 (which was fine with the previous monitor, but now looks stretched). I used Tafferpatcher to set a higher resolution, and also tried setting it in cam.cfg and ddfix.ini, but it always crashes :(</STRIKE>
Never mind, I just tried Ddfix 1.12 and it worked :)

1.12? hmm.. I'm using 1.5.11 here, and I set my resolution in cam.cfg to 1280 x 800, no crash.

Sorry, I meant 1.5.12. Anyway, now I have to go back and exchange this new monitor for another one, because the glare is unbearable - not from external reflections, but the monitor has this hazy glare that makes Thief almost impossible to play without having the gamma to the max in darker areas. I tried playing with the contrast and brightness, but nothing works, I guess it's just a crappy monitor. :(

Oh ok. Well that's a bummer. Hope you get your monitor issue sorted out.
