And Aja hates it on sight! BONUS!
You don't understand. Frank West is an ICON. In Dead Rising, Frank sets the tone, and everything else follows. Half of what you can actually do in the game is amusing just because Frank's the one doing it.

Frank's a cool character, yes, and I would be interested to see what happened to him given the ending of the first game, but I quite like the look of the new character, and a lot of zombie fiction is about telling the stories of lots of different people.
It does make it interesting though...
Thanks to Isabella's reveal in the first game, we know Frank was infected, and if he didn't receive ongoing treatment from Isabella, he would zombify. So does this mean the new protagonist will have a similar NPC to Isabella helping him out? Is he naturally immune? Has someone figured out a vaccine? Is the new guy working with Frank and Isabella?
Questions, questions.
Also interesting by its absence is the camera.
I wasn't overly enamoured with it in the first game, and I honestly won't miss it if it's not included in the new game, but it does leave some big gameplay holes.
No photographing psychos?
No comedy or brutality points?
No taking photos of breasts and scoring erotica points?
No PP stickers to give you bonus experience and capture particularly dramatic scenes?
I can only hope that they increase depth in the rest of the game if they have indeed taken out the camera.
But I so know I'll be dressing my character up in a showgirl's outfit complete with feather headdress and beating zombies about the head with a one-armed bandit :D

At the very least Frank's gotta play a secondary role. It's just not Dead Rising without him.
The photography I could take or leave. It was a defining aspect of Frank's character, but it shouldn't be shoehorned to fit someone else.

I thought Dead Rising seemed pretty cool but i was very disapointed by how extremely poorly executed it was, especially the horrible controlls and the whole idea that you had to finish it in time (i never felt like i could go explore anything). I hope they've learned from their misstakes because the rest of the game seemed really good..

The time limit wasn't a mistake. Once you got used to the idea that you were supposed to play the game in multiple playthroughs, the real gameplay opened itself up.

Why a 360 gamepad specifically? My gamepad is awesome and has never failed to work with any game, including Capcom's DMC4.
It'll be a GfW title, likely only controllers that support Xinput will work and there's not many of those. Only a 360 pad is guaranteed 100% compatibility (and is the best pad on the market anyway, the rubbish unresponsive d-pad withstanding).

Wouldn't get your hopes up just yet, the studio developing it has only made three games, all of them baseball games.
Oh dear.

I don't really know whether my gamepad supports xinput. What I do know is that it has worked flawlessly with all GfW games I've tried it with.

That doesn't sound good, at all. :(

That thing is fucking HUGE. I have a shitty Logitech Dual Action (dual shock 2 clone) that I only played one game with: Broken Sword 3 (it was necessary).
