Baseball bats and zombies are also a winning combination.
Hilarious, I think you have a solid point there. Still, makes you wonder how it came to be in the first place (baseball game dev getting DR2).

What's so great about Frank West? I can't remember a single line that guy said. I wouldn't remember his name if you wouldn't have typed it out. They might just as well have named him Videogame Protagonist #14652 he was so blank. Seriously, what was so great about that character?
Oh yeah, MP trailer does an excellent job at not giving any impression of what the actual gameplay will be like. Why do they call it a trailer when it so obviously is a teaser? Also the fun in killing zombies in DR was that you got to improvise and use houshold items as weapons. Motorbikes with chainsaws strapped on them are just too obvious. Sorta takes away the charm. Well, as long as the gameplay is fun it's all good but so far I am unimpressed.

he's covered wars, ya know.

beat me to it
Yes I've changed my mind since February- Frank West rules. That said, the way the plot wrapped up leaves it really ambiguous as to what happens to him after the game and I'm not upset that he's not in the sequel.

What? You too dethy? WHY does Frank West rule?

How could you have played Dead Rising and not even remember the name "Frank West"? Did you not notice Frank's brimming self-confidence ("I've covered wars, y'know")? Or his firm hand in dealing with women ("uh, we're not done talkin' here!")? Or the look of sheer revulsion on his face when when he sees the photographer's "most violent shot"? And then his utterly blank stare as he roto-tills a zombie into a pack of more zombies? His despair at the country he once loved, that left him to die?? Frank is captivating in the way only the very best B-movie actors are. Without him the game would've been fun, but soulless.
And dethtoll, you know the ending changes depending on how much you complete, right? There's at least half-a-dozen different ways to conclude it.

I got the Overtime Mode ending. I figured that was the "true" ending.
henke, if you don't get it that's fine. Personally I like Frank, but again, I'm not all torn up that he's not in the sequel. Aja is refusing to even consider that this new guy may be just as fun to play.
I will note that Frank
has turned into a mascot of sorts for Capcom, so he'll very likely be back.
