I used the Seeker rifle, you get tons of ammo for it by the endgame and it becomes capable of one-shotting most regular enemies. Getting three rounds off an enemy you killed in one shot will stock up your ammo pretty quickly. Of course, it's not good at short range, so I kept a pulse rifle handy for close encounters.
