(
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/346692/ea-confirms-new-dead-space-game/) The game's confirmed for this fiscal year, ending March 31st 2013.
(
http://au.ign.com/articles/2012/05/09/dead-space-3-allegedly-features-co-op) Rumoured DS3 details:-
* 2-player Drop-in, drop-out co-op during campaign. Game's difficulty adjusts on the fly to accommodate the 2nd player. You can share resources between players - eg give each other ammo, etc. The article suggest that the 2nd player maybe justified in fiction as being one of Isaac's hallucinations.
* Takes place on an icy world. (Taking inspiration from John Carpenter's The Thing? Yes please!)
* Fight against armed soldiers (UGH). (They become necromorphs later in the campaign, of course.)

I'll enjoy it, whatever it is, so long as the MP connectivity isn't borked, and the PC doesn't get shit on again.

You know, try as they might, neither of the main games are as good as Extraction. Oh man, for a rail shooter that was goooooood.

I am okay with all of those rumors. Fighting soldiers would be a neat change of pace, and the engine really isn't terribly suited to it. Ice world is awesome given the already heavy Carpenter influence, and co-op is what I've been wanting since the first game.

Hey dethtoll, did you play Extraction on Wii or PS3?

I'd have to get the Move to play Extraction on PS3. Fuck that, I've GOT a Wii.

Extraction had terrible replay value for a rail shooter. I found Overkill to be superior.

Just wondering, I wasn't sure if there was any difference between the versions, and I played the Wii.

The PS3 version is supposedly a HD remake. What exactly that entails, I have no idea. It looks pretty good on Wii though.
