I would definitely say RE4 was a horror game, just not SurHor. Is DS3 have any jump scares or monster gore, at least?

I've been playing the game for about two hours now and am at the beginning of the fourth chapter out of twenty. Aside from the brief shootout/escape in the first chapter, I'm actually enjoying myself. The game seems to have a better sense of pacing thus far and I really like how the enemies are significantly faster this time around. I wasn't expecting much from this game especially after my mixed feelings with regard to Dead Space 2 but I've been pleasantly surprised thus far. Maybe its because I just finished playing the disaster which was Resident Evil 6 not too long ago.
I'll be sure to give a more proper review once I've made it further into the game. On a somewhat related note, has anyone here ever played Shadows of the Damned? I finally got around to playing it this past week to hold me over until Dead Space 3 came out and I really liked it. Aside from Suda 51's infantile humor, the game play was tight and even more refined than either Dead Space 3 or Resident Evil 6. I also liked the games overall aesthetics coupled with the various enemy designs. If you haven't checked it out, I would recommend it. Aside from Shinji Mikami working on the game with Suda 51, Akira Yamaoka was also on board and worked on the games soundtrack.

Sorry, I meant SurHor, just talking in the terms that Sulpher laid out talking about action horror vs. survival horror.
I'm at chapter 12 now. This game is refreshingly lengthy. I'm glad I got it.

Yeah, I liked it. Even the "infantile humor".

Picked it up. Despite the reports of it being CoD or whatever, humans with guns appeared exactly once so far. Right back to space monsters afterward.
Enjoying it mostly.
But goddamnit Isaac. Making another weapon out of scrap metal is cool and all, but how about you make some goddamned shoulder mounted floodlights first? His degree is from the Doom 3 school of engineering.

Is there anywhere the PC version is being sold for less than $60? I can only find it on Origin which is a little disheartening.

I should really fucking shop around more often. Dammit.

So, the DS3 commercial touts it as 'one of the greatest games of this generation'. Come on now...
