Once you reached the planet, did your helmet stop producing light? In the early spaceship sections, you could see the light being given off from Isaac's eye slits, but it turned off on the planet, even underground.
Space magic.

Yeah I noticed that, too, but I wonder if it was dependant on the suit you wore because sometimes it came back. (I switched around a bit because I got bored quickly.) It might just be that the suits without the scary engineering plating don't give off the light. Like the ones that make you look like Sam Fischer, like the SCAF suits or the snowsuit. I could be wrong, I'll have to test my theory.
If anybody is up for some co-op I'd like to do the co-op only missions (FUCK YOU EA). I think playing co-op on impossible might be really fun.

LATE EDIT: Also, anyone else plays this without the music? I turned it off after an hour or so in the first game, and never looked back ever since. It was (and is) more immersive for me without the music - the audio design is quite good, but the music just distracted me (though the menu music in DS3 was kinda nice).

of the 3 DS3 has the best music. At least before landing on Tau Volantis. A lot of the zero G stuff in orbit was really fantastic. Like I said earlier: hinting at James Horner and Aliens. It's quite good. I do find the "fight music" really jarring and annoying, especially if I'm playing cat n' mouse with a baddie but the music doesn't turn off yet just because he isn't dead.
And where is X when you need him?

Yo DAwg! I heard you liked guns so I put a gun on your gun so you can shoot bullets while you're shooting bullets!

I did notice that the music seemed more fitting and less random screeching violins like in the first game, and there's definitely an Aliens vibe in those early levels.
