Does that mean you've bought a new mouse since that World of Goo thread?

If that were true the game would be unplayable; hitting the limbs isn't optional.
... that's the
entire point of combat. If
you want to waste ammo on body shots when you could just cut off their limbs like the message
written in blood specifically told you to, then that's your perogative. Meanwhile, I'd like some precision in my controls, thank you very much.
God
damn you're a console tard. I'm suprised you're even using a computer to post here, unless you're posting by a Dreamcast or something.

I'm trying to not be a dick here but you are really going out of your way to misinterpret what I'm saying.
I KNOW THE POINT IS TO SHOOT THE LIMBS
you have to do it or else you can't beat the game. IT IS NOT OPTIONAL
sigh.
And so unless I somehow managed to finish the game by playing in a way that is both explicitly discouraged by the game and otherwise IMPOSSIBLE, the controller was more than accurate enough to hit the limbs, thanks.
Why you guys take this issue so personally is a strange and pathetic mystery.

Oh sweet, I don't see what your problem is then. Set your polling rate to 1000 permanently, turn off pointer precision.
Configure on-the-fly sensitivity to one of the thumb buttons, use 3.5 for desktop use and 7.5 for games.
There, any misconceptions about mouse controls will be gone forever.

In a game like Dead Space precision doesn't really matter because what you have to shoot is always so close to you. Works just fine with a controller. The new controlers are also much faster and much more precise, I could probably beat a not that good pc-player in a fps. And yeah guilty, I am a console gamer, only use pc for Total War and Europe Universalis

The link is dead.

No it's not.

Aja, I've played both versions of Dead Space and I didn't have any problems with weird mouse acceleration/sensitivity. It's probably a software configuration issue relating to the mouse that can be fixed if you ever need to play it again on your laptop - Eva's made some useful suggestions regarding that.
To add my 2c, the game was slightly easier for me on the PC, but it wasn't such an earth-shatteringly huge difference that I actively missed mouse control when I switched to the PS3 version. You can aim for the limbs easily once you get used to it.
