That's a relief; I was going to be pretty ticked off if DS2 ended up being console-only.

Finally started an Impossible mode playthrough after not touching the game for about 18 months (and buying a 3D capable LED TV. Seriously, if you have the capability, this game was pretty much made for true stereo 3D). I forgot just how fucking beefy the line gun sounds, and how awesome putting a couple of dudes in stasis and dropping a line gun mine between them is.

The line gun is the mini-gun-like gun, right? And the mine plants a rotating turret or something, right? Man, I really really underused the weapons in the game, and stuck to the plasma cutter most of the time. I will definitely replay the game before the sequel and be more adventurous, still have my saves with Impossible unlocked for that occasion.
[EDIT]
Oshi I remember now what the (

Yeah, my first playthrough I pretty much stuck with the cutter, line gun, and assault rifle. This time I'm going to try the weapons that I either never used (ripper, flamethrower), or didn't give a real chance (force gun).

I'm on this, first time for moi. Choose medium skill since I didn't really know what to expect in so far as weapons and difficulty of foes. First sitting I reached the 5th chapter 'till I wore out. I'm on 10th chapter atm, lovin' every bit of it. Got stumped at planting the beacon on the mini asteroid objective, just couldn't figure it out and got chopped to hell and back by the blades. I had to use a walkthrough ultimately. Using stasis skill more often now, more like forced since monsters getting real fvckin' evil now. Really love the zero gravity areas, sending mofos back to hell upside down ftw. Currently with Level 5 suit, Line gun, Ripper, Pulse gun, Force gun. Sold my Plasma Cutter for 40K and bought the Level 5 suit, forcing myself to use the other guns more often. Solid game guyz, real, real solid. ;)

I just don't like this game. Tried to play this 3 times so far, and it isn't clicking with me. Oh well. I gave it a shot. I actually gave my game away to prevent me from attempting another failed session.

I've been suffering from system shock 2 withdrawal blues, and this game comes up as one of the few modern games that even attempts a similar kind of experience.
Can you expand on why you didn't like it? Was it the mood? Did the story fail to draw you in?

my guess it is the story which was a load of shit with ridiculous NPCs and that mad doctor, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. atmosphere and scare resources is what glued me to the game.

Don't listen to me, the overwhelming majority of those whom have played it, absolutely LOVED it.

How representative is the Dismemberment Demo? I downloaded and played that one yesterday and ran out of ammo for my main weapon within half a minute, with Necros (or whatever they're called) still flooding in. It's probably down to me failing miserably at the control scheme, but with a good tutorial and/or difficulty curve that shouldn't be a problem. If I disliked the demo because I sucked at it, should I still give the full game a chance? ;)
