Sweet, glad you have that as an option Subjeff.
I am 1/2 way through Chapter 3, btw, and immensely enjoying this game. Just playin' on normal though, as this is really my first time through it in its entirety. The monster variety is amazing, and I am loving the plot so far. (Who is this Harris guy, :) I hope he has some more backstory...) Also, the whole Captain dying thing is capturing my attention.

Harris' backstory is told through the web comics, you'd have to watch them. to hear his story. It only pop up a couple times (or just once?) in the audio logs.
I just finished Chapter 7, here's hoping you get through chapter 5 without ragequitting. Here on the forums most people hated the asteriod bits, which didn't bother me, but Chapter 5 I had a tough time with my first time through, and I've got a friend who has it on Xbox and has never gotten past it.

What do you mean, Chapter 5 was awesome in a nononononononono oh FUCK NO sort of way. One-trick pony, maybe, but thankfully they only used the trick once.
That was on Hard on the PS3, I'm not too sure how difficult it'd be on Impossible, however.

I'm talking about the part
in the infirmary when you're surround and the regenerator is in there with you. I'm sure you're talking about the same thing, but I died a few times getting past it. I just know a guy who has never gotten out of that room and he hates the game because of it.oh... and why WHY do I always forget about the tallman. FML they scare me everytime. and i'm not talking jump scares here.

Chapter 5 is a chapter I fucking love but fucking hate at the same time. It is basically the same deck as chapter 2 but with less number of accessible areas and far, far messier than when you last visited. You will just think to yourself as you look at the first hallway "Wait, this happened in my short absence? Oh fuck, what is in store for me?".
Fucking love the really gritty atmosphere and the fact you meet some seriously twisted new necromorphs. I get goosebumps whenever I walk into the room where you will shortly "release the beast", the music and the audio log you listened to in the room before are great contributors to that.
Fucking hate the big fight in that emergency room with the flashing lights. I never had trouble to the point of quitting (Only to take a short break maybe.) but the flashing lights really give me a hard time seeing much of anything what is going on. People might think that the escape door is time triggered, but it is actually killcount triggered, the faster you kill the little guys the faster you're out of there. This may make sense to not allow people to skip the action but it gives me the feeling Kendra is watching through some window or security camera waiting on the open switch until you've killed x number of necromorphs rather than hastily trying to hack the door.

I died once or twice too, but Bjossi's post sums up why I still like that entire level.

I am NOT ragequitting this time. And thx about the comics. Didn't even know about them.

SubjEff- I suggest buying nodes from the shop when you can. I'm playing on Hard and I make more than enough money to buy new suits and weapons, so the excess can go to a couple of power nodes per level.

As of the last chapter in round 1 on Hard I've fully upgraded my health, cutter, pulse gun, line gun (Only damage that is, but other features are either well or fully upgraded.), stasis and kinesis, as well as having the best available suit. I got so much ammo in the store that I could probably get a few more nodes for selling it.
Upgrades make all the difference. :p
