When does Dead Space try to activate itself, during installation or when you first run the game EXE?
Cheers.

Also, does one receive back an activation when the game is uninstalled?
I made the stupid mistake of purchasing Crysis instead of Dead Space. I just wanted to see how far my system could go but I was expecting gameplay not so trifling

The comics were better.
I agree, and better voice acting, as well as in the game. Downfall really felt like an anime to me.

That's a bit unfair as some anime is quite good.

Not the kind dubbed in english.
I'll read subs 12 times out of 10 over bad english dubs.
(you're right though. im a pretty big animenerd, Even did a half dozen AMV's)

Well, it wasn't as bad as the Evangelion dub.
I half wonder if the NGE voice actors relish being infamous.

K nobody has really posted this yet as far as I can tell so here goes.
If the game was too easy for you.. do it on impossible mode, its unlocked once you beat the game.
So beat it on normal or whatever and unlock impossible. Wait about 2 weeks to a month to give yourself time to forget about the game and go back to it on impossible mode. They've tweaked gameplay is ways I wish more games would.
Most of the enemies use their "special attacks" without much warning now. Ie. the baby necromorphs will lunge at issac without a seconds warning. Also They have this annoying tendancy now to lurk towards you with their arms tucked into their bodies taht I don't remember seeing on Normal difficulty. It makes it very difficult to chop them up.
Plus things like the Semi-conductors give you much less money when you cash them in at the store. The entire first chapter I was running around with about 6 - 8 extra shots for the plasma cutter in my inventory which made things extreemly tense. I found myself actually Using medkits and the Stasis field to fight. On more than a couple occasions I ended up freezing 2 or 3 guys and having to run up and beat the piss out of them because I had no ammo. Ended up running out of stasis energy once and had to fist fight my way through 2 guys. Finally killed them and had 1 little bar of health left and they dropped just enough ammo to fill my gun back up and give me 2 shots to spare.
Try it!
(mind you now im halfway through chapter 2 and I have about 40 shots in my inventory now, I'm getting good at switching back and forth between firemodes to make maximum use of my ammo)

Any particular weapons you find yourself sticking with? I carried around the line gun for a good chunk of the game but never used it; in that time I'd gathered up a huge stockpile of ammo, which came quite handy towards the end of the game as I was running out of cutter and rifle ammo. And with some careful aiming you can kill the little ones with one shot.

I mostly stuck with the Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle... I like the pulse rifle because you dont really use it to cut them up like the other weapons. You just pump em full of bullets and they eventually die, I find it satisfying to be able to not think and aim carefully every once in awhile. The line Gun I found to actually be very useful later in the game once you upgrade it a bit. I ended up playing most of the last levels right up to the end boss with only the line gun and pulse rifle, The problem with the line gun is the amount of space it takes in your inventory. The ammo that is. It works good on the fast necro's i found.
I used the ripper for a couple chapters somewhere around the mining level but quickly sold it to buy power nodes once I realized it sucked too bad and all iwas trying to do was eat up ammo. Played with the flamerthrower a bit but not much. My first run through I didn't even touch the contact beam. I think in this game is pays to specialize. For this impossible runthrough I think im' going to use the plasma cutter for most of the game and maybe pickup the line gun a bit later. But the rest I'll wait till my second playthrough. Its like a challenge to me much like RE2 was. I have to play it on the hardest difficulty and unlock every possible cheat and/or weapon. I probably wont rest until I have everything maxxed lol. Now that I know impossible mode is so much fun.
Pretty much I think the cutter, rifle, and line gun are the most useful and everything else is just for some variety and "cool" factor. The concept of the ripper is awesome. but it doesn't work so well... maybe if i upgraded it some more.

The contact beam is awful, the ripper is even worse. I used the flamethrower quite a bit, though, it works wonders on those really little bastards that come out of the fatties. Only downside is it's worthless in zero air.
So to put it simply: Cutter for general work, plasma rifle for suppression, flamethrower for smaller, more annoying creatures, and line gun for tougher creatures and as a main weapon in the later chapters.
