As for the camera, it IS absolutely screwed up in the PC version out of the box, even with vsynch off. It is a bug because for some fleeting moments in the game, the camera actually reverts to "normal" (i.e. how it is forcing vsynch thru video card).
You mean when you're stationary and have manipulated the camera to a different view, then once you've moved the camera automatically snaps to the default position? If so, then that's entirely intentional, the game is supposed to have a fixed over-shoulder view. The 360 version is just like that.

I think the game would have been cooler with some sort of cyborg aspect, or a different take on the enemies.
Then they'd be derivative of Star Trek's Borg! :p

No, I mean like at some points for me the overall view-changing was on par with the gpu vsynch for a few minutes and then it would just revert back to normal, suggesting the game was perfectly capable of running at the higher speed but some problem was preventing it. regardless, EA's lazy for not offering a patch.

Been having plenty of fun with it, but I ran into a snag. All my saves were deleted, which happened before too (which was my fault). It would be AMAZING if anyone has a save file in chapter 3 around
The tentacle attack
I know this is a long shot, but I really don't want to play through the beggining chapters again.

I've got one from the middle of Chapter 2 and another from the very beginning of Ch. 4.

Just having another legitimate whine, getting straight to the point, taking care to omit any asterisk's...
Followed EvaUnit's instructions, its better but still no where near good enough, it still takes far too long to swing around when armed.
And due to the un-configurable/un-mappable keys issue, I've resorted to wedging the shift key down so always run is on.
And yet another annoyance/glaring bug, if any enemy is at the players feet and the player has to resort to swinging at said enemy(because he is out of ammo), all the player succeeds in doing is swinging through the air, not actually hitting the enemy...
bunch of cunt fucking arse. :erg:

jesus christ here we go again
I don't know how you managed to completely fail to figure out how to remap your keys but you are very clearly doing it wrong, because the keys are perfectly remappable. I did it, why can't you?
And also you DO realize you can stomp, right? It absolutely comes in handy.
RTFM. I suggest you actually try to figure things out on your own instead of flailing about whining about how bad this game is because you can't find the clearly-labelled remap keys menu.

Once you get to about the half-way point, the game improves in my opinion. You'll probably be able to overlook to some extent these technical issues. I'd have easily played another 10 levels of Dead Space if they were like levels 6-11.
