Even if you disable it altogether, it's slower than when you force Vsync outside the game.
It's considerably worse with forced vsynch on my PC.

I get "uneven" speedups when forcing vsync, in aiming mode I look around and sometimes the display moves fast but sometimes slow. It is very annoying so I went back to the default setting.
Anyway, I'm loving this game more and more as I progress, it is taking some time to get used to 3rd person view though (the only other 3rd person games I had ever played were the Splinter Cell games). I just started chapter 2 and will keep on playing next evening & night.

Took me a while to get used to it as well. Probably 'cuz I wasn't playing on console and it was over-the-shoulder.

The copy I played handled pretty ok, I wonder if it is just out of a lot of your elements? Like you aren't used to this kind of view/controls?

Yeah, the over-the-shoulder view was brand new to me.
But there are two minor things that annoy me about the RIG & the main menu. The color scheme isn't so good for my eyes, I'm more for high contrast (bright letters, dark background), the white letters on bright gray get painful to watch after a short time. And the pointer in the main menu moves very fast, I would probably get used to it if I wasn't always using a much slower pointer in Windows. :erg:
These are in no way game-breaking though, obviously. I'm having lots of fun fighting those ugly necromorphs. I think I've met 3 types so far, the crawling ones being the most deadly (if they jump on me, I'm as good as dead).

Me and a friend played it on his ps3, nice game.
Of course there are little niggles, like difficulty reading the text, slow turning speed and the character design was just plain weird. I guess they wanted an armoured soldier type of dude but didn't want a walking lump of steel.
It might not be the best ever but it certainly, imo, doesn't deserve the grief it has been getting.

like difficulty reading the text,
Buy a HDTV. 360 and PS3 games look like garbage in SD.

So I just bought this game off Steam for 40 bucks, and the first thing that I notice is that you can't map the direction keys to the arrow keys on my keyboard. WTF! The RIG setup is hardcoded to use them, so no way to map the direction keys to my usual setup. Again, WTF.
I'm a leftie, and the last game that didn't support arrow-key movement was Ultima Uderworld.
I see what bikerdude was bitching about.
But wait. A little bit of the Google and I found this:

Problem solved! Spread the word. You can now steer the little spacesuit guy with the arrow keys. Now If I could only find a 1st-person mod.
(I wonder if this will work with UU)

I'm in need of help here. I just reached the part in chapter 4 where Isaac has to shoot down asteroids with a mass cannon before they hit the hull.
Many people have trouble with that part, but at least they can see the damn rocks. :erg: I can see some of them and get some lucky shots but the hull is below 50% before 15 seconds pass. And the disgustingly slow mouse response is not helping. Am I wasting my time here? After a dozen tries, a trainer that makes the hull indestructible looks very tempting. . .

Seriously, turn off v-sync if you haven't already. For some reason it totally fucks the mouse control.
