Vsync has been off since I started playing. When forcing it through the video driver the mouse movement sped up but got a nasty side-effect of being erratic; at times it was slow but then suddenly speeds up, then slows down again, you get the idea.
EDIT: Gave this a try and it did nothing for this part of the game. I did however manage to reach the 'just a little bit longer' message twice but then few seconds later it was over. Have EA said anything about a patch? I really could use the extra mouse speed here.
And by the way, what makes little sense to me is when the hull suddenly becomes sensitive after it had been getting bombarded by asteroids for the entire chapter.

Weird. I turned off v-sync and jacked the sensitivity up a bit, and I have honestly had no complaints at all about the mouse sensitivity. It works fine.

Well, even if I did perform well with low-ish sensitivity, I still got bad eyesight. In this particular case I spot many asteroids when it is too late. (it is very hard to describe what causes that)
If only it was possible to slow down the gameplay speed, or maybe make the asteroids much easier to see by highlighting them or something, I would still have hair on my head. :p

I found the asteroid part to be pretty easy once I realized that holding down the left mouse button acted as an auto-fire, rather than having to press it to fire each individual shot.

So... you suck. Don't blame the game for eyesight problems and th fact that your reaction times are horrid.

Careful with that. I've had my guns overheat.

Gunsmoke, that was uncalled for.
My reaction times are most likely not the best, but I can't react to something before I see it. Many asteroids hit the hull without me seeing them at all, as a matter of fact.

That's not a problem with the game, though, is what he's saying.

And I agree. The game is simply throwing a mini-game at me that is hard to tackle with bad eyes. I'm gonna try some stuff like lowering graphics settings, if I could get the space behind the asteroids completely black I'd have a much much easier time spotting them.
But if that wouldn't help me, then I suck, simple as that. ;)

I admit I have to turn the sensitivity ALL THE WAY UP for the asteroid sequences. Might want to try that+messing with the monitor.
