I gave low graphics a try and got through it on the 3rd attempt.
Had 8% hull integrity to spare. The low settings made it easier to spot the asteroids (they seemed brighter than before), and there weren't as many effects blocking the view.
The max mouse sensitivity helped too, of course. :p

That's not a problem with the game, though, is what he's saying.
Exactly. Sorry if it came out gruff, (I myself am well on my way to being legally blind one day), I was just saying...it's not the game's fault.

One day? You mean your eyesight is degrading? I'm in that boat, it is called retinitis pigmentosa. Dunno if I'll ever get completely blind but it will definitely get worse as the years go by. I sure hope scientists will master the use of stem cells sooner than later.
Anyway, I guess I got a little upset because I was already pissed off after many failed attempts at getting past the asteroid part. :p

I would be all over a thread called "Bitch About Your Eyesight"...

Yeah, few cases of blindness in family, and my contact lens Rx changes (for the worse)sometimes twice a year.

That sucks, I "upgrade" to better glasses every 2 - 3 years or so. And I'm one of a kind in my family, the first one in many generations to get affected by retinitis pigmentosa. :erg: Mom and dad both had the genes handy, apparently.
Anyway, to get back on topic, chapter 5 has to be the scariest, most twisted one so far. I picked up an audio log where
Mercer was doing regeneration experiments (that log was disturbing, btw) and I knew that couldn't be a good sign of what's coming.
And now I'm in the security station with that son of a bitch crawling around in the vents waiting to attack me. I just had to take a break at this point, I was enough of a wreck after the first meeting. . .

He's pretty fucking scary, I'll give you that. But at least you get the chance to show him what for at the end of that chapter.
