Heh, you got that right.
I'm in chapter 6 now, and chapter 5 is definitely not one of the chapters I look forward to playing again. Getting locked inside a big room full of flashing lights with the big, regenerating dude and minions is about as fucking irritating as it gets in my opinion, especially since I can't see what the hell is going on when constantly blinded by the flashing lights. I got lucky on the 5th attempt.
Thankfully that was the only really difficult part of the chapter. There were two others that were annoying but not to the point of making me rip my pubes out after being done with the hair.
Please tell me I won't have to meet the Regenerator again, PLEASE. :erg:

Strangely I had the opposite problem. Finding life-support took about 5 tries because I'm stupid. But I got rid of the regenerator on the first try.
You'll meet a 2nd one late in the game but it's fairly more obvious what to do and actually easier to do it.

I got the bastard on my first try as well. When reading the sign above the door into the room I knew what had to be done, but not how. I simply lured him into the center of the machine, ignoring the minions, used stasis on him and then guessed that the control room must have the on-switch inside. And voila. Then I got rid of the minions, looted the place and continued to chapter 6.

I think it's the same one, he's just been defrosted.

You should probably put spoiler tags on that one bjossi.
Might be obvious but you dont want to give the strategy away. The 2nd time i did that fight was considerably less frantic just because I knew what to do.

I got as far as chapter 10/11, then the game folded in the crew quarters and refused to start. Just after you kill the tenticle you get mugged by a bunch of mutants the game died at that event for me.

Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but is this game overly difficult? I've been running for my life from those things, finding very little ammo, and in general just getting my ass kicked. Am I alone? Maybe I just need to wuss out and lower my difficulty setting.

The hard difficulty--isn't.

Alright, put the strategy into spoiler tags.
Oh, and Brethren, you're not alone. Although I find the game's difficulty to be just right overall (so far), there are parts that are anything but easy. Just hang in there and keep practicing, and don't forget to upgrade your stuff with the power nodes.

Use the Cutter, go for limb shots every time. Save the specialized ammo for when you're desperate. Most of the basic enemies can be dispatched easily with the Cutter, so you shouldn't be in too much danger. Relying on it will allow you to stockpile ammo for your other toys. Also, buying ammo isn't a great idea, since the game will see that you have plenty of ammo and then not reward you with any more until you get low again.
