I haven't got there yet. I only played my PC pirate version to see how it runs, but I like the console version's controls more.
You do realise that the PC version has 100% native support for the 360 controller, yeah? The in-game HUD displays and dialogue boxes even transform into coloured 360 buttons from your usual generic "[E] key" texts.

Yeah, I tried it with a 360 controller and it works almost as well as the Xbox, but the dead zones are off—they're huge for some reason on the PC, which makes it feel sloppy—not to mention the fact that my tv has a better picture than my laptop's LCD. Bioshock is bit eerie: when you plug in the 360 controller, the entire menu system changes to the 360 version, so you get weird options like "unlock frame rate", and all the graphics options are reduced to a single slider.
But anyway, the guy I'm talking to only wants $30 for a brand new, sealed Xbox copy. It's not a monumental difference, but it's a difference nonetheless.

Bioshock
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Dead Space
Dreamfall
Jade Empire
RE4
These are the games I own that I used to play with a mouse and keyboard, but since have switched to the 360 gamepad. I'm a big fan of M+K for my PC games, but all the above games worked so much better with the gamepad that I have changed my tune. I really dig the analog sticks and their wider range of movement (and view) speed.

Oh boy, here we go again.

Yippee, got a brand new 360 copy for $30. School's done, and I'm starting tonight.

What does this even mean?

Analogue movement, which he has point about there. But no, thumbsticks will NEVER be better for looking/view/camera movement.

It means that I am able to scroll my view around very, very slowly, or a little quicker, or a lot quicker depending on the amount of pressure I apply to the thumbstick. Couple that with the movement stick allowing the same level of control, and that delivers to me a greater range of freedom.
Let's look at Bioshock. Without the patch, PC users were given one choice of speed (well, two if you count crouching). When the patch came out, we now had two speeds: we could walk or we could run. The mouse lag on the PC version was a huge issue for many. Just google it if you have forgotten. When I first plugged the 360 gamepad in and ran Bioshock, I instantly fell in love with the controls and the ability to offer a much greater range of movement and view.
See, I like to creep around and take in Rapture at a more moderate rate. Not the amphetamine twitch rate that came coded in the PC version.
I'm sure I'm not alone on this.
P.S.
The rumble affects are pretty cool too.

I wasn't disputing the analogue thumbstick's strength when it comes to variable movement speed and agreed with you the first time. Learn to read.

Yeah, any moderately priced high dpi, high performance (1600-2000 dpi) mouse makes this point seem laughable. (Oh and the people who whine about how gaming mice are over-priced novelty gimmicks don't have a fucking clue.)
I'm sorry to break it to you, but mice movement is analogue too and you're simply wrong, the speed and aiming precision granted by mouse look has no better.
RE: Mouse acceleration: With my USB polling rate overclocked to 1000Hz (natively from my mouse's driver software) and running on 75% of available the dpi speed (2000 dpi max), the so called bugged laggy looking speed in Dead Space is equal to about only half an inch of mouse movement of my Razer Deathadder. The cheaply priced Logitech MX512 and Razer Diamondback would likely deliver very similar results.
