i never bought more than 3 weapons: cutter, line gun, ripper

I really didn't like the saw weapon. The main 2 weapons I used was the first "pistol" weapon and the line gun (which is the best in my opinion, but ammo takes up a lot of inventory space), but I also sometimes used the contact beam because it did so much damage... I mostly just used it in the later stages. Never even picked up the flamer or the rifle. The air blast gun is useless (at least I found it to be).

The pulse rifle is a necromorph slaughter machine when fully upgraded. 2 bursts is all that is needed to kill a necromorph of the non-black variety.
As for the force gun, it seems like a good weapon to knock down bad guys to delay their approach, and fully upgraded it probably deals massive damage in addition.
I wonder if I can simply buy and upgrade both, there are lots of power nodes ahead and no other equipment to focus on.

Anyway, I just met Big McEndboss and I gotta say that thing scares the shit out of me (seeing it
kill Kendra was disturbing to watch despite her being a bitch for betraying Isaac). Though it is a bit easy; I managed to get past the former stage of the fight on the first try, and when I had dealt with two targets in the latter stage the game crashed to desktop. :erg:
Yeah, it always crashes in the same place during the end boss fight due to a bad crack. There was a fixed crack released.

Of course not, it just means that's going to be a monotonous
6+ hours of spunky quips and attitude.
6 hours? Maybe if you're playing on Easy. Definitely not the case you play through the game on Hard.

Hmm, then I wonder why the next 2 times I killed it without the game crashing. I did notice that in both cases the monster never used its pregnant launcher, I guess I killed it too quickly or something.

I've fully upgraded all my gear now and I'm only at the start of chapter 6, what 4th weapon should I buy and concentrate on upgrading (I currently got cutter, pulse rifle and line gun)?
I'm thinking of avoiding the flamer and ripper altogether and buy the force gun and contact beam. The former I only used a few times in round 1 to deal with the Tallman's remains, and the latter I didn't use at all so I have no clue if it is any good against anything but bosses. Hard to pick. . .
The Force Gun is very under rated, I found myself barely touching my other weapons once I'd fully upgraded it. It's designed for close quarters and excells when there's a group of necromorphs closing in. I used it like the shotgun in Resident Evil games, get in close and let rip. Anything it doesn't kill will be knocked down or stunned so you can follow up with some stamps/smashes to save some ammo.

That sounds great. I got 8 power nodes now and nothing to spend them on so I might as well buy the force gun and upgrade it to hell and back. But at this rate it will be fully upgraded long before I finish the game so there will probably be room for a fully upgraded contact beam.

Personally, I found the combination of Pulse Rifle for long range, Plasma Cutter for medium range and Force Gun for close range to be a pretty decent selection that can cover any encounter. I know some people swear by the Ripper and Line Gun, but I found the former took too long to kill things and the latter wasn't much of an improvement over the Plasma Cutter.
Still, each to ther own. I'd certainly encourage experimenting to see what you like best.

I'm not too impressed by the force gun so far. Even after upgrading damage 4 times it takes up to 4 hits to kill a slasher. And dismembering with it isn't going too well either. I must be using it wrong. :erg:
By the way, the line gun is devastatingly powerful when fully upgraded. You can practically kill a group of slashers, babies or even pregnants with just one or two well-aimed shots. This is my favorite weapon against the babies because one line gun shot can take out all 3 tentacles. It can also slice up brutes like they were made of butter, I took one down with just 4 shots.
Oh, and I must warn you guys; do not put a loaded weapon into the safe. I put a fully loaded force gun (with capacity upgrade or two) into the safe and when I took it out there was only 1 force shot loaded. And there is no sign of the rest.

The line gun is a fucking monster when upgraded and with careful aiming. If you can catch a black lurker in the tentacles with it, it will ruin the little fucker's shit. I only wish you could change its alignment from horizontal to vertical but hey you can't have everything.
