They should ticket you for parking in a heavy traffic zone.
Get your goddamn cars off the street! Drunks are trying to drive here.
If you don't like the way I drive, get off the sidewalk

Sorry to hear that, that's truly annoying.
Why is your insurance involved at all though? If your car was parked shouldn't the other driver's insurance have to pay?
The other driver
drove off. Leaving me holding the bag. What a dick.

It's just a shot in the dark but maybe you should turn right and take a walk sightseeing the cars early one morning taking note of the color paint in various fender gouges. He could have been close to home.

Ah, didn't get that at first. What an asshole.
If you want to find the driver it would help if you knew the exact time of day it happened. Then go out at that exact time and ask some drivers if they saw anything. With just a bit of luck you'll find a commuter who was there at the time. Or you might even find that driver yourself. Proving it might be a hassle though. Best you had a witness.
Apart from that, if the damage doesn't decrease the security or function of your car, consider just not repairing it. Keep the insurance and wear that bump or scratch like a scar. Take a permanent marker and write the date and location next to it. Maybe add a "Cincinatti Survivor 2011" sticker on the rear and you're good to go.

Speaking of witness, if he cannot build walls (even low walls) or fences, then put a webcam constantly recording (maybe online if you lack disk space) to use as proof and license plate record.

I guess the car is parked on the side of the street, so building a wall there might raise some eyebrows in the neighbourhood.

It happened at 4 in the morning, so no witnesses. Who the hell drives drunk at 4 in the morning?
The cop picked up a serial number off the shattered glass/plastic all over the ground; it won't tell us who hit me, but it will tell us the make and model of the car.
I have a sneaking suspicion that it's the same guy who plowed into our other car the week before Christmas. I mean, we're not exactly a busy street here- it's a little one-way street kind of way, way off the beaten path, except for the fact that we open on to Benson, which is a fairly busy thoroughfare and also a major part of the Bridal Mall; both accidents occurred at 4am, and both times the driver took off.
I hate this place.

And withholding that information isn't impeding justice?

I think the 'it' deth is talking about is the serial number, not the cop.
@dethtoll:
Did they find a serial number the first time this happened?
