Is there a way to get them working?
Every time I blackjack someone and their spine is snapped in twain (which is every time I blackjack someone), my suspension of disbelief is similarly broken. It's really ruining my enjoyment of the game.

Aahh, ragdoll physics. Turns every "Unconcious" or "Dead" AI into one of the slinky people. All you can do is shake your head, laugh at their freakishness, and move on.

they do actually work for some people (me for instance). It's a real hit and miss thing.

There's a flag somewhere not being set. I think they work for the first load of a level, and after that (move through zones, save/load) cause it to bug out.
This is a shame as there are some sublime animations in there that are nicely mixed with ragdoll physics.
I was playing Thief 3 the other day and had an animation that worked really well. I shot a guard in the shoulder with a broadhead arrow. The force of the arrow forced his shoulder round, he slammed into the wall and slid down it.
There are so many little bits and pieces that seemingly break with the save and load system. :erg:

I noticed that it never happens to Cradle puppets. Of course, I can't blackjack them, but the death animation after attack with dagger/holy water/fire arrow/flashbomb is always correct. Maybe that'll help to dig something out...

The death animation problem was solved by me over a year ago in the thread linked below. If someone would put together a patch based on my solution that would be swell as I'm too busy.
