Wow- you must have a killer video card, John. Those are some high quality JPG's. :wot:

I've finshed this FM today... and I'm breathless. It's System Shock mixed with Thief, professional quality - and all I'm left with is the hope that John D. will create an SS2 FM next.
I'd give Deep Trouble II a Gold Hammer if not for the bugs - mostly crashes in large open areas (Temple and big underwater ones). Readables are great, atmosphere is pure Shock and this FM is more scary than RTC, which is a VERY rare thing. The scare factor is not in the AIs, but in the atmosphere, lighting, the noises and the looks... And 'Mother' -- or should we call her by her real name, S.H.O.D.A.N -- is a very well-build new villian for Thief 2; In truth, I'd like to see her return (where, oh where is the beta grove? :))
Again, the only prublem I had with this FM were the crash bugs - and the overcrouded Temples, which were very anoying to sneak through.

Great mission! I really liked the architecture, the sounds (very creepy -- made me jump) the custom textures and objects, the AI. Great fun to play.
I found a way to solve the crash problem in the ante-room of the large chapel. Just go through it looking at the floor. There is some graphics overload problem when you look up.
I have an idea that may help you to find the problem. My guess is that although the chapel and other areas appear invisible while in that ante-room, the rendering engine does not know that in advance, so it is trying to render all the polygons, including the many invisible ones in the chapel, causing some memory problem. I don't know Dromed, so this is just conjecture, but if there is any way to isolate areas that cannot be seen from other areas and remove them from the rendering then it might help.

Well, I finally got into the chapel (after a detour to play Christina's new mission and another abortive attempt at the Water Tunnel), and was able to get through the chapel antechamber following Smithpd's advice to look at the floor. Apparently, this Chapel is on the same level as the crypt of the Holy Grail in the last Indiana Jones movie. Only the penitant get through.
Edit:
Interestingly, once you've been in the Chapel, you can march all over the anteroom without problem.

I am in the control room and see a non functioning elevator. How do I get down there? I assume this is where the shot off control is located. Help!
Nightwalker on 20/11/2004 at 15:24
The elevator works. The buttons are on the back, left-hand metal upright.

Jeepers, I missed that! :o

I'm shy a few coins, and I cannot find the code that opens the door. I have read earlier posts that said
to look at a computer screen displaying "message", but I cannot find this computer
. As such, I need assistance to move forward, as I presume I am near finishing this level and moving onto level II.

The code is
revealed when you read a computer screen in the Control Center.
If you can't find it, then you'll have to tell us exactly where you are to get more specific help.
There's not a lot of loot lying around.
There are a few coins in Alphez's room, a statue in a chest in the crew quarters and a couple of gold wine bottles in the Rec center.
