Is there any way to scare away the Fire shadow that keeps lurking in the hall ? I have got the Mystic's soul & i am on the ladder that goes back to the hall where he's roaming. I can't water-arrow him while still on the ladder. If I drop down from the ladder, he will kill me instantly before i even get a chance to water-arrow him.

The fire shadow is kind of creepy.
You could try distracting it with noise arrows and running (Or you can try using broadheads if you don't have any noise arrows). I'm not sure if flashbombs have any effect on it but that's probably worth a try if you happen to have any.
I can't think of any other solutions right now. It wasn't right under the ladder when I stole the Mystic's Soul the last time.

I cant use any arrow at all while i am on the ladder. Moreover, u don't get any flash bombs in this mission. Is there any alternative at all which allows me to scare him away without having to face him or dodge him ?

I'm pretty sure I just dropped down and ran, then turned and water-arrowed him. It should be possible without him killing you instantly, you just have to time it right.

You can jump off the ladder and run to the Hammer water-trap to the left of that chamber. There, jump on the right ladder (it's completely dark) and wait while Fireshadow chills himself with Hammers' holy water. Then take the fire arrow, if you need it. You know, it's an infinite source of fire arrows.
