This looks like it would be a pretty good mission, and I was quite surprised that I got all the way downstairs without problem,( must add here that finding myself a weapon was quite challenging )but suddenly the game started crashing, and now everytime I re-load, I manage to move a bit further, but suffice to say, I will send this one to the recycle bin and wait for a newer version to come out. Looking forward to playing it from beginning to end and re-loading only because Garrett's bursitis was acting up and he had a hard time swinging the
hammer
This was originally a project from early December back when I was a fairly new Dromeder, and was sitting around since Christmas. It was just a project to help improve my architecture, which was completely horrible before that. I thought as I worked on it that it had some potential so I asked for betatesters.

And that really wasn't whining in any case. That was humor. If you read all the preceeding posts about problems and crashes and then mine; it sort of jumps to your face and there's a "Have you no shame?"-kind of air around it.
Guess my humor was a bit too vague. Didn't you read my second post? That's definetly not whining. I'm not a brat.
That's ok, I should have put more work into the bug fixing if I was going to release it. I wouldn't learn a thing if people just pretended to be nice.

Same thing here..I had just knocked everyone out in side the chapel upstairs and outside and all of the sudden, Crash city. It looks to be a good mission. Please fix it or let someone else try if you lack the ambition. Thankyou for all your work but I think I will wait for the re release to if it happens.
I just ruined one of my WD Raptor hard drives(The SATA connector broke off in the cable) a Enermax PS(It blew) and almoast trashed my Radeon 9500 pro by accidentaly knocking one of the tiny square thing by the power connector off the circuit board but got lucky and fixed it with some super glue. Weeew. I thought it was going to die untill I came to this forum and saw this.

Mine crashed in a different place, and I narrowed it down a bit (my crash, I mean; I don't know if this applies to anybody else's crash). In mine...
Downstairs inside the cathedral, but before going through the silver door into the crypt, there are several barracks-type rooms. In particular, as you move down the stairs then through the small hallway before entering the larger hall with the gold vases and worthless vases on pedestals, there is a room off to the right; if you continue through the doorway straight ahead, there is another room to the right -- those two rooms-on-the-right may be connected; I can't tell, because...
...Because whenever I try to enter either room to the right or even look in that direction, the game crashes. I got enough of a glimpse to see that there were some chests in there -- presumably with loot -- but that's all I could see before I was at the desktop and Windows was politely inquiring whether I wanted to send a crash report to Microsoft (I declined, equally politely). I'm running on XP, Service Pack 2, lots of RAM, high-speed video card, tons of free space on the disk; playing on Expert.
That's the crashing data. Now for the gameplay data.
Speesh, I complain about this every so often; the reason is that it's so irritating. I have busted my hump ghosting this mission all the way up to the point in the crypt where you go down the second, inner set of stairs that are patrolled by a black-robed haunt and a skeleton. Everything is going great, tough but a clean ghost -- when all of sudden, I discover I must move through a doorway that has a haunt standing in it staring directly the direction I'm coming from.
First of all, is there some other way into the area where the big bad waits? I might just be missing something.
But if there isn't, then let me try to articulate my complaint precisely: I don't really mind missions that clearly are not ghostable -- Ruins of Originia, for example. But it's terribly frustrating when a mission appears to be ghostable all the way through... and then right at the end, when we have already invested a couple of hours of very difficult gameplay, there's an absolute ghost bust.
And in this case, the fix would be so easy: all it would take would be for the haunt to occasionally turn to face a different direction.
I haven't played through the very end; I've only just started looking at it. That might also be impossible to ghost -- but I don't know yet, so I won't kvetch until then.*
I understand not every mission can be ghostable; I'm not talking about that. I'm specifically talking about missions that are ghostable until the very end, when an absolute ghost-bust is tossed in. It's incredibly frustrating, especially coming on top of having to deal with crashes to the desktop. If I know in the first fifteen minutes or so that a mission isn't going to be ghostable, I'll play very differently than if it looks ghostable for hour after hour -- and then suddenly, a big kick in the pants.
That's my beef.
*Note: Yes, it's possible to ghost killing the big bad. But I still haven't found Bafford's scepter, nor have I gotten enough loot... I'm at 2290 loot, and I need 2400. I have a bad feeling that there is enough loot in the Unenterable Room, but I can't get at it. Maybe I'll be able to get in there after coming up out of the crypt...?
In any case, so far, it's just that one spot. Are there any invisibility potions in this mission? And is there any other way into the area where I killed the big bad?

I don't think that's the reason that it has been crashing so much however. Only when you pick up the body. Maybe I will have to remove some of the DedX stuff.
I've had similar results after installing DedX, but only on specific AI. I don't remember which AI's, but I would try Yandro's suggestion.
I'm going to D/L this FM and see if it crashes on me. Actually I would like to play the FM. :D

I found this mission sucked far too many system resources , right from the get go . That might be what's up the the weird ass sound ( The first guard on patrol was doing a double tap every third step :eww: ) . Personally , I thought the grounds to be a little devoid of scenery . While the interior seemed to be well done , I don't want to put any more stress than necessary on my old cpu and will have to wait for a redo .

Man, you're always complaining about ghost-busts.

I am in the process of uploading it right now, so thiefmissions should be updated soon. Thanks to metal dawn, I was able to find and stop what seems like all of the crashing problems. It looks like there were some buggy AI still inside there that I could have sworn I deleted, I guess Dromed crashed while I was saving or something. I also redid some of the sound and a really slight bit of retexturing. Hope it works now.

Here goes
*Inhales*
[Loud, Monotone:]
Ghosters are always looking for some excuse to add a rule to their list and make their lives harders.
[Regular voice:]
*Sighs* Woo, sorry, had to get that one off my shoulders.

@Speesh: Nice work. That was fast.

After crashing this one a second time when picking up the priest I did notice that there was no 'carry pic' when I picked up the body. It crashes within 1 second after picking him up. That's the only place so far that I've crashed it on. I'll try it again and leave his body there and see what happens.
Mine will crash after I try to drop the hammer priest as well as
the mummy. btw I was able to pick up the mummy while he was walking around.
I had problems with the sound propogation too. Some places there is no sound, and some others I can hear inside the cathedral while outside. There are other sound anomalies, but I won't mention them here.
I do like the catacombs. :) I had a hard time getting inside the cathedral, but one thing is for certain... We all got lots of exercise running around the cathedral. :D
