So this game totally passed under my radar. I had seen it mentioned when I was browsing upcoming PS3 titles but the name was so trite that I ignored it. And now it's popping up with rave reviews, check it: (

Everybody seems to have been raving about it for most of the year, the Asian release was fully in English and the PS3 has region free game playback. It's supposed to be brutally hard and unforgiving.
I might pick up the US Limited Edition on import.

It's also the spiritual successor of King's field. I might get a PS3 just for this.

That's ridiculous, the Bible CLEARLY STATES that only Humans have souls.
I'm boycotting this game.

This. I don't have a PS3 and this is one of the first things I've seen that makes me want one.

I'll be picking it up this afternoon.

This is the game that pushed me over the edge on getting a PS3. When I finally get around to grabbing one, I'll be picking up Demon's Soul right alongside it.

Ok so after having invested some time into it: it's pretty awesome. It's just rather dreary. Every place is dead, everything is dead. Hell, I am dead. I was alive for a while, but I died again. :| Very hardcore game, I can definitely see it eating away my hours. I'm not too certain what you lose when you die other than your collected souls though...

I picked this up today from an imported games seller in London as the word of mouth on the forums I visit has been nothing less than stellar, and it's worth every damn penny.
The player messaging system alone is utterly brilliant, but not since Spelunky have I played a game that punishes you so damn hard for making a stupid mistake. Sure, there's something masochistic about it, but the sense of achievement you get for attaining a goal is fantastic.
Thoroughly, thoroughly recommended.

I LOVE GETTING MY ASS RAPED!!!!
That is....er....I'm enjoying Demon's Souls quite a lot (....despite the ass rapery just mentioned).
