Just to let those of you playing Destiny on PS4 know that I've started playing again, in case anyone wants to add me (thirith_ch). I'm currently level 9 and have just gone to the moon - which, contrary to what Aardman Studios has led me to believe, isn't made of cheese. Thanks, Obama!

So the new campaign featuring in the "Rise of Iron" expansion is UNCHALLENGING and ONLY 90 MINUTES LONG apparently and populated by RESKINNED ENEMIES... and they want (

It took me maybe 90 minutes to beat five or six new story missions in the main quest. You're mostly fighting a collection of SIVA-infected Fallen called “Splicers,” being sent out on missions by Saladin, his archivist and his scout, who all reside in the Iron Temple.
I was not maxed out on light before this expansion hit, but the missions start with relatively low light requirements, and top out at about 320 by the end. I had no problem with any of them, and didn't actually die at all during the main storyline, which isn't terribly surprising because this is how things usually go.

Similarly, I found myself a bit disappointed that yet again, Bungie is relying on enemy recycling. The Splicer Fallen are reskinned, and their weapons are now red and for maddening reasons half of them shoot homing grenades at you when they die, but they're more or less the same old Fallen we've been killing for years. Again, this may change in the raid, but across all the story missions and two Strikes, the only variety has been a couple new boss encounters. Destiny isn't exactly known for adding in loads of new enemies, but this Fallen reskin is even less mechanically complex than the also-reskinned Taken. It's a little disappointing.
