Let's see:
a) JC Denton ending: all humans "equalized" through nano-technology? That's a True Ending, much like Alpha Centauri's, where humans go to "the next level". I can't see that being incorporated into Deus Ex 3. It's the only non-continuable ending of the 4.
b) Omar ending: Apocalyptic ending in which all non-biomodified humans have wiped themselves out on a dead Earth. It could be a foreshadowing of the ENDING of Deus Ex 3 -- since it postulates the Omar walking the Earth after the squabbling between Earth nations and factions.
c) Tempar ending: Ugh. Talk about a sour ending (much like the Dark Side victory in Knights of the Old Republic.) It could very well be the basis for Deus Ex 3 - the chief villians. Even the end quote is a warning rather than a "compliment".
d) Illuminati ending: Very neutral - basically the same as the Illuminati ending of Deus Ex. I love the architecture, too - very bright and shiny - I hope it's the basis for the look of Deus Ex 3. After Deus Ex and DX:IW, I'd like something NON-grungy for once. :D
I HATED the JC ending.. it's so depressing how even Paul didn't talk JC out of it and how the machines were controlling JC's mind. This is a bad ending. What did the movie "The Matrix" teach us? Machines are our friend or machines are our enemy.
"can't live with 'em -- can't live without 'em"
Same for Omar, evil ending.
Templar's may have it right by using technology to destroy technology and then turn to the Dark Ages.
How the heck could a 20 year old Aquinas Router & Protocl operate in 2072?
Illuminati ending, probably the best ending besides Templar.
Yup.. depressing endings.. And JC's twisted mind really made me mad. The very idea he chose to MERGE with HELIOS pisses me off each time I think about it. When going through Deus Ex it it was NOT the right choice to merge with an AI.. so what did the programmers make him do in Invisible War? He had merged with Helios AND caused a collapse... wow. What a terrible mistake.

Keep in mind that the glory of DX1's endings is that not everybody agrees on the best one: I absolutely prefer the Helios ending, disliked the Illuminati, and despired tong's Collapse. In order to incorporate all three endings into one, they had to include the merger, or people like me would be ticked by its absence.
I can see a means to merging all four endings, though, in much the same way as the shift from DXI to DXII; you assume that all the endings happen, but partially.
The Helios merger goes forward, converting a significant fraction of the world's population. However, Saman's (unmentioned) backup plan also goes forward, using a sample of Billie's blood; a significant fraction of the world's population is also rendered immune to biomods on the Denton model. Warfare erupts between the Templars and the Helios Republic, creating immense chaos in which the adaptable Omar thrive as a third way; though the Omar themselves have suffered from a fractured identity due to the warring nanites - resulting in several related, nominally united, sub-personalities in the Omar group conciousness.
And, attempting to manipulate all three factions, the Illuminati wend their way in and out of the corridors of power.
Ok.. but the thing is, the Illuminati have been controlling the world for many many centuries already, always placing people in power and I guess secretly removing those who they value a threat
ie: Each president of the USA who began a term that ended in "0" (1920, 1940, 1960, 1980, 2000)
Of course, the 80's assassination attempt had failed..
Conspiracy theories... oh how interesting and yet so unacceptable.

Personally love JC Ending, like Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End, and Alpha Centauri.
humanity goes to the it's next stage of evolution
that's indeed the true ending ;)

Could it not be argued that the same goes for the Omar ending?

That Keanu Reeves' best acting performance is still Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?

I agree, but the contemporary western society which praises INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE over everything is really not ready for that yet.

I guess Omar ending is okay for a sequel. It even talked about an "age of heroes", you can squeeze lots of games into two hundred years' time.
JC's ending doesn't really makes a good start setting for a game, unless something like in Syndicate Wars happened.
Illuminati and Templar ending could have you fight against them in a sequel I guess, and maybe finally make it into the space.

I wonder if they're planning on integrating the 5th ending somehow. That's the only ending I really cared for.
