Hmmm, it seems like I haven't been playing most of Deus Ex with EAX at all. Although I have my 3d hardware sound enabled in the options, I still see no difference in sound quality. I even tried to make sure Deus Ex was using my soundblaster Live's EAX functionality, by choosing an actual preset that would be very obvious if it were being used in the game. Still no difference. Which leaves me to the conclusion that something is either wrong with the game or my sound card. Anyone know what might the problem be? I'm using a Soundblaster Live! Value card.

I don't think DX supports EAX actually..

Well, it's not just Deus Ex that doesn't work with EAX. There are other games too. But I do think Deus Ex supports EAX as well as A3d. At least, it mentions it in the readme file several times. I even tried to enable the 3d hardware support in the game, but there's no difference.
