If it's the freighter, I don't know either. I never really stayed in there to find out. Besides, does it matter? It's plenty time to get outta there.
Also, shouldn't this be in the Hints and Spoilers forum?

I seem to remember it being stated by the developers before DX was released that there would be no situations in the game that would be timed. However, I wouldn't stick around on the freighter to test that anyway.

i stayed there for a long time, hopping around and shooting all my ammo to see if it did, and it never did blow up. i think you're just supposed to take tong's warning seriously and "git da hell outta dere!"

I will test the idea. I'm currently on another play through and have just reached the Superfreighter. Once Tong gives me the warning, I'll put JC away somewhere safe and start the stop watch, I'll report back to you when I have an answer.

i loaded the mission after the superfreighter (where you get to the naval shipyard outside, once again) into the editor, and if i'm not completely stupid or making things up, i found an event trigger in every single possible way out. in other words, the superfreighter is supposed to blow the moment you get out.
