I'm wondering if this is something known by everyone but me, or if not, then is everyone else as curious as I am?
This isn't really about Deus Ex, it's about the DeusEx-Machina website (http://www.deusex-machina.com)- specifically, the scenes that appear as backgrounds on the site.
One is plainly Battery Park, but that's not Denton in the pic - his shirt is red, for one thing.
Another is plainly Versalife, but in the game, there aren't all those people walking around.
What are they? Screenshots from mods? Concept art from Deus Ex development?

I was wondering that too. You might notice some similarities between "Denton's" skin in the background and Smuggler's, but the development team did take a particular pleasure in recycling the same models and skins repeatedly. At that, they did do a great job on the few that were used.

Yes, it's Smuggler's shirt, all right, but the head and face are different.
Maybe if enough of us get curious they'll explain the origin of those screenies to us. They're

Those are the first 10 Deus Ex screenshots released. As you can see, some things have changed.

Cool, thanks for the explanation!
I really like that one with the stairway and the ornate tile on the floor. Looks like a place you'd expect to see Keepers in Thief.
