i'm really looking forward to playing the original shock. i've tried it enough to be sorta used to the interface ... sorta. i love jedi knight and am in the middle of deus ex.
jk is frigging awesome. PLANETJEDIKNIGHT.COM would be a dream come true. instead of just dreaming about getting into scripting and level design, i'd actually do it.

No mod scene? Visit(
http://www.massassi.com) The Massassi Temple for great addon single- and multiplayer levels, TCs, editing resources and tutorials.
Cheers.

Yah - there is a big mod scene - and there used to be a bigger one.
BTW not long ago someone finally developed bots for JK/MotS. I'm sure there is a link from the temple...

Anyone here remember (or ever played) Strife. That's the first FPS/RPG where you can buy weapons, talk to people, has a solid story, etc. etc. Really a great game, though seems few people knows it... :(

Well, if you really look at it, in the star wars saga, the force is miniscule creatures, living in symbiosis in your bloodstream, and granting you powers..
now, look at the Nanites in DE. Small.. well, not creatures, but they are existing in symbiosis with you in your bloodstream, and granting you powers.

On a more practical level, a lot of the augs have direct parallels in JK's force powers.
Force Speed is the running speed aug.
Force Heal is analogous to the regeneration aug.
Absorb performs much like the various "block XX% damage from Y source" augs.
Force Jump also works like the running aug's jump height enhancements, though it's more extreme.
Persuasion is the cloak.
Sight is the enhanced vision aug.
Basically, all the internal/defensive powers are present in DX, just no external/offensive/affect-the-world-around-you powers.
There's also a direct parallel in how the augs and force powers increase in strength. DX has four levels for each aug, JK has four levels for each power. In DX, exploring hidden areas will often land you bonus aug upgrades, whereas in JK discovering secret areas will accellerate your growth in the force (simulated by "stars" that you can allocate to the powers between missions, just as you do with DX and aug upgrades).
So, ahh, that's where the Force is. :)
