Stick around and find out. We don't run listicles. At least, I don't, and I'm not about to do some sort of ironic validation exercise. But there's an LGS retrospective thread that we seem to have for some reason that could host some cogent discussion, for instance.

Then maybe you should have refrained from posting those typical internet comments in the first place. You never know what kind of game experiences that other person had. Dispensing judgement on your fellow forum members with a "holier-than-thou" attitude is what Steam Forums are for.

I played almost all of the games mentioned there and enjoyed them as well. Thank you.

Always fun when the fraggles venture above ground.

Good. I'm glad we're on the same page. Looking forward to less irony next time.

That's not why I'm worried that it will suck.
I'm worried that it will suck becuase post-HR projects have sucked ass, and that they're trying to shoe-horn a sequel to a game that clearly wasn't written for a direct sequel.

EM has made exactly one game since HR, and it was by a different team. And even that game is good, it simply lacked the singular creative focus required for greatness.

While I think the idea of a augs vs. non-augs civil rights is pretty interesting, the trailer feels very generic-y over the top drama. But then, so did DX:HR and its mostly square's doing, so I don't think it's a big concern. Best wait for more info.

Tony might be thinking about Deus Ex: The Fall. But that was done by an entirely different team, and was designed primarily for tablets.

Thief was a complete turd. Not a turd as in "compared to other Thief games", but a turd as in "compared to any other video game". They managed the incredible feat of having smaller levels than TDS, smaller even than Hitman: Absolution. At this point it's not levels seperated by loading screens, but loading screens seperated by levels.
Also quit the thiefgen bashing people, if you like shit it's your problem, don't blame them for having higher standards. There's a difference between enjoying a wide variety of games, and playing (and buying, and pre-ordering) every turd that comes your way.
As for the new DX, the only thing I'd like to see is melee combat (even if it's in the form of QTEs or cutscenes it would be better than nothing). Leaning would be great too, but who am I kidding it will never happen (even though Alien: Isolation and Dishonored have proved that it can be done). Also huge fucking levels. I'd rather they sacrificed the visuals to render bigger levels than the opposite. Hopefully the new gen consoles can do both and we don't end up in the same situation as with last gen's Thief/Hitman.

Please do feel free to continue complaining about Thiaf and consolisation and high standards - whatever that's supposed to mean - in the repurposed nature reserve dedicated to it nearer the bottom of the forum index with its eleventy-million threads on the same topic.
Meanwhile, we'd like to continue enjoying games like Alien Isolation and Deus Ex: HR and Demon's Souls without having to argue about whether they were ruined by being developed for toasters instead of waffle irons.
