Okay, I have been trying to get this thing to work for about 2-3 hours. I want to play some fan maps and the stupid thing isnt being cooperative. Can someone please help me to get it to work? Now I would like a detailed description of how to get it to work or at least a link to detailed instructions.

I never tried this with DX, only with UT, but it shoudl work nevertheless:
DX associates map files with the .exe. So if you simply execute the respecitve map you want to play, it should work.
And then there are console commands to change maps. Since they are considered cheats, I'm sure you will find them if you search for cheats. You first have to activate the console by editind some file concerned with the keyboard bindings, and then you have to know the command.
I know this sounds a bit blurry, but simply look for cheats, and you will find what you are searching for.
