Hello all,
My first post. I've had DE for several months now. I have yet to complete the game to due to various crashes to DT. I've reloaded and installed all the latest patches and it crashes again. I never crashes in the same place.
The last crash I read the error file carefully. I indicated a problem with a certain map and sound file. I copied those files from the CD to HD and the seems to be playing ok.
If any of you have seen this and know whats the deal, let me know.
Great game if, I just could finish it!!

This most often happens when you install the game from a DVD or CD-R/RW drive. IIRC, for some reason this seems to disable the error check during the copying process. One solution is to copy the whole CD to a directory on your HD (in which case Windoze will do the error checking) and install from there. Many crashes have also been fixed by copying Map and Sound files manually.
Wish you luck

The Deus Ex CDs are overburned. It's 698 MB of information on a 650 MB disc. Most drives don't have a problem with this, but some do. Copying the CD to the harddrive and installing from there solves misread file problems.
