And, hey, I think it would be better to have a movie based on a game that already has a decent plot, as opposed to a movie based on a computer game that just has a decent-looking main character so they have to throw together some excuse for a plot.
After all, if you can adapt books, tv shows, and even old movies for new movies, why not a computer game? It doesn't have to be the exact same plot (obviously it wouldn't be since there are several critical choice areas) but even so I would still watch it.

But that's the problem: Even the game felt a little rushed with all the conspiracy theories. Imagine tryin to work in all the angles: Area 51, majestic-12, echelon, AND the Illuminati, not to mention all the twists of the actual story. Audiences would never be able to digest all the reverses.
IMO, books usually lose a lot in translation, especially plot-intensive ones. And Deus Ex would definitely make a long novel.
Maybe a trilogy, though...
