The only thing I can think of then is that your disk is either dirty, or scratched. Try cleaning your disk. You might even want to try cleaning out your CDROM drive with an AirSpray container. You can get them at Best Buy.

Actually, from what I've seen on the ionstorm forum, this is becoming a REALLY common problem among people. Unfortunately, neither Eidos nor Ionstorm have any clue what the problem/solution are as of right now, but there's a thread on there entitled "Installation Problems" that I started following and would suggest the same of anyone else with this problem.
