Deus Ex World will be a mod for Deus Ex that will feature all the different worlds from Deus Ex, interconnected, wherein players can choose any faction from the game to join. Want to stay evil with UNATCO and MJ12 -- you can. Or choose a triad in Hong Kong and be part of massive gang wars. This MMORPG mod aims to create a new, unrestricted world out of Deus Ex's existing one. The world is up to the player.
More information can be found at <a href="http://www.geocities.com/kronotong/">Deus Ex World</a>.
I need people to help me make this mod, os if you're interested, check out the site. Even if you're not interested, please spread the word to those who might be -- thanks.

Get the code in place first. I dont think it would work out quite as much a MMORPG as a co-op setup. But good luck to you, co-op DX is what I'm desperate for

Thanks for the input. I will keep the forums posted as the mod develops.

I think it should be like where there is a master aka. server host's that pick what clan is allied with who. This way you could convince them to unallie. You'd have to have good reasons though. Also there could be a Master's room/level where there is no way to fight and u can just talk.

Ahhh the smell of the blade sweet of blood yet the Dragon remains active and the power unlimited.

Deus Ex World will indeed have masters of factions. The masters may start off as NPC's, replaced as soon as a player has acheived master status, or they may be the first players to register and choose a faction. This part of the plan is far in the future, but it is most definitely in the project. This means players who become masters of factions will be able to play as Max Chen, Gordon Quick, Chad, Joseph Manderley, etc. How the leaders choose to govern their factions and which alliances or conflicts they make is up to them, as is the choice to obey made by the members of the factions. The goal of Deus Ex World is to put the Role-Playing back in Deus Ex.

Hey! If you manage to do this, it would be superb. Now to get broadband...

A Deus Ex MMORPG would be sweet but I doubt whether the UT/DX netcode can handle so many players.
Still, I wish you the best of luck!

I realize that the current netcode in place is both laggy and unoptimized. If I can find some excellent coders to join the team, we may rewrite or seriously optimize and alter the existing netcode to enabled Deus Ex World to hold many players. If you know of any coders who are free, have them send an email my way. Thanks for your posts!

You don't have a chance in hell of making this work anything even remotely close to smoothly. As developers have been telling the Dawn team for about a generation, there's a lot more to a MMORPG than slapping extra code on a FPS.
