This has to the "most difficult" mission in the history mission building. I have a zillion questsions but can someone tell be where and how t get to the MAW area and the much needed vine arroww. Over 6 hours in this mission and I have only gotten one goal checked off. I have to kive up and try agaoin later.
To get to the:
Maw, First of all, The generator Room off the Temple corridor. Push the red button, then wait for the arcing switch to become frobbable. You will hear the generators start up. Then, if you have been in the Part of the warehouse where you see the two windows up above, the odometer is up there. Enter 2183, and you can enter the maw. When you enter the Maw, look for what looks like moss crystals on Plant leaves, vines, stalks ect. These are your vine arrows.

There are also 2 vine arrows (they look like moss crystals) on the big vine in northern warehouse beta if you're playing version 1.1. In version 1.0.1, there is only one vine arrow there.

I have some loot (about 1200), but I've only bagged one goal -- the jewelry in the catacombs. I have figured out a few things, but not enough actually to accomplish anything:
I understand that I can explode the X's (not the one leading to the Burrick area) and get tin ore and copper ore. I'm sure I'm supposed to lug them to some machine to make a gear; but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
I think if I shut off the secondary water somethingorother, all the power goes out for a minute or so. I don't know what I'm supposed to do during that minute, however.
I read here about there being a Maw opening, but I have no idea where it is.
I've been bedeviled by huge, fake masks: Two in the mines that just teleported me elsewhere; and one seen from the mortician's office looking across the corridior into the room behind the furnace. None seemed to do anything useful.
In short, I just have no idea where to go or what to do next. I suppose I could focus on the ore, but what about all the other objectives? In what order should I perform them?

Hi Dafydd,
I use the:
Mines first, and head east until coming to some steps that will lead into the Temple. Once in the temple explore to find some secrets, and then walk toward the Huge Winged Statue on the Wall and turn right into the corridor. In the corridor turn left until it almost deadends, then left into the Generator Room. If you have'nt yet turned the water valve on in one of the office prior to this, you can enter the Water Hatch, and go through the tube. Once the water has been turned on, then the Hatch cannot be accessed.
In the Generator Room frob the button, and wait until the lights have come on, and until the arcing switch can be frobbed. Frob it. and you should hear the generators come on.
Now that the power is on you can access the Bay doors. 2183 is the code you would enter to go into the Maw part of the warehouse. First you must find the Control room which you can see if you look up. One window on each side with a huge vine growing up from the floor. To access the odometer room, you will have to find the elevators. The elevator for the low numbers are off the Mechanist Quaters area. Use your imagination of how the route would be to enter the first control area. The other elevator is on the opposite side of that warehouse section. You must have the "Warehouse Key first"
Hint: If you started on Normal difficulty, then there is a ready made gear key in the mines, so you wouldn't have to process your Tin and Copper ore. Once you are able to access the Bay door Controlling room, then you can access all of the Bay doors and complete your goals. Also climb around on the crates as much as you can access, and you will discover more ways of getting around and some other things.
The mines are the key to getting started, once you have accessed the offices.

The
false masks are basically for "fun" and taunting Garrett more than anything else. You don't need to use them to finish the game.
Your main goal is to
cross the mines to the Mechanist area, descend to the Mechanist temple, and find a Warehouse key. With the warehouse key, you can access a lot of important areas of the mission. Also, you want to turn on main power (although this will start the robots moving around) in the back of the temple so that you can enter combinations and open doors. Access to the combination entry areas will come after you get the warehouse key (or at least be a lot easier after you get the warehouse key).In general, keep exploring.
Regarding the water pressure,
there's a switch in the mechanist's office (the "A" offices, if I remember correctly) that turns on the water. No power should go off at that time - instead you should hear water pumping in terms of the sound effects. When you're later in the back of the temple and press a button, there'll be a minute of water sound effects. If that's what you're referring to, you don't need to do a thing during that minute - when the minute is over, lights in the room should go on and you should be able to flip the switch to turn on main power - this allows you to use the combinations and will release the robot that you have to stealthily avoid.Once you
have the warehouse key and have main power on, start entering combinations to open doors. This will allow you to find machines that you can use the copper ore and iron ore on. My memory is there is a readable somewhere that explains how to use the ores and the machines. Ultimately this will give you the means to get the "centerpiece" objective. You didn't state what difficulty level you're playing at, so I don't know if some of the other objectives are required or optional for you. I will say that one of the other objectives (whether required or optional) can be achieved in
the mechanist temple (with either holy water or an item you hopefully found in the "A" offices). Another objective can be achieved in the catacombs
if you have two goblets you found elsewhere - diligent exploring/searching will find these. You will need main power turned on and the ability to enter combinations to open doors to get to the
Tear of Maw - this objective is typically achieved later in the mission.
Hope this helps...

The mask aspects will complete a bonus objective if you find them all. Not that taking the main mask out of the vault will make them all vanish.
Dafydd on 30/9/2011 at 20:41
I have finished all the initial objectives plus two of the optionals, destroy the figments and loot the hidden compartment in the vault... all but the loot requirement, that is! I'm still short by 215 (in order to complete the mission, I mean, not to find every scrap of loot).
I found the secret in the actress's office in the D office block (assuming that is a secret), the secret book in the Mech library that opens a secret door outside, and I believe I "found" a secret in the crypts -- though I don't think I ever found what door or panel or whatnot it opened, and I don't think I got the loot, if any.
What other optional objectives are there? (I think I missed out on finding all the mask aspects, and I've already taken the real mask from the vault.) And where is the remaining secret, and what does the secret in the crypt open? Any loot?
I need that 215!
Thanks,
Dafydd

The Secret
Door in the crypts is upward. Yes, there is loot in there. Also, Did you obtain the "Tear of Maw" Also,
The optional objective to kill karrass ghost, the Trickster, and the Tree beast, and those shadow ? at least the
Trickster and the Karass Ghost .
Dafydd on 30/9/2011 at 22:07
Thanks, DarthsLair;
I did get the Tear of Maw -- is that an optional obective? -- and I killed the Trickster and Karras' ghost. I didn't get any objective about a treebeast or the green shadows, though I killed one of the latter anyway; but I haven't any more flashbombs (I only had two)... does anything else kill them?
I'll head back to the crypt and find the loot I earned by discovering the secret... Edit: Found it; looked up and saw an opening; vined up, some loot and a holy-water bowl.
How do I get the other optional objectives, besides the two I noted above? I still need 130 in loot and one more secret.
Thanks to anyone who can help,
Dafydd

Secret:
In the Mechanist Temple, along the far western wall is a tall winged statue coming out from the wall. When facing the Statue, look to the tube on the right. There is a button up on the grate there. It can be hit by an arrow, or you can use a vine arrow to climb and frob. Then look to the Altar for an opened compartment. There you will find the Amulet of inspiration in there.Secret:
Use some holy water on the Gear on the Altar and watch below. This mission is loaded with:
Secret doors- Alot of secrets. It takes along time to explore and fully appreciate the Creative imagination of the AuthorAn optional objective:
The Yin and Yan Goblets once found can be taken down to the Crypts, and you will find the place to set them on a pedestal.
