after you read the book in the apothecary's office. My reasoning was that Garrett wouldn't see that particular book as worth reading until he had a reason to do so, but leaving it in there, unfrobbable, may make it stand out enough that the player would remember where it is and easily be able to find it once they know to.Quote Posted by pwl

I tried getting completely out of Thief and loading save but still only walking speed. I then turned off my PC but still no good, then finally it started working again don't know what I did? Untill I picked up the copper ore??? then it was back to walking :confused:
It's not a bug. The ore is heavy and so carrying it in your inventory slows you down the same as if you were carrying a corpse.
You've tried
entering the code and then frobbing that switch in the lower left of that first screenshot? That should be all there is to it... If not then that is a serious bug. Please make sure you are entering the code right and let me know. No testers (or myself) have ever encountered that bug. You'll know that you've got the right code entered when the wires under the "high voltage" junction box start sparking. If you 'drop' the ore, you will be able to walk normally again. Default key, press 'R'.

the 'refined Copper' and the 'refined Tin', then you need to go to the
Smelter -

Oh taff me. I think I may have stumbled into a possible bug and need to start the whole thing over (yup, one quicksave :tsktsk:). I had some sort of chalice or goblet in my inventory and for some random reason I thought I would try dropping it onto the empty pedestal that is located up in the center of the lava room with the sarcophagus. Now it's become unfrobbable dead weight and dropping it didn't produce any noticeable effect... am I going to need this goblet for anything later on?

I haven't got to that bit yet poronty but from what I've read in a book somewhere, you need another goblet as well. So hopefully you'll be OK.

copper ore must be used on the
Spinning machine instead of the Pressing machine.
(Read the 'Parabel of the Smith' in the small library)
I hope you have some copper left .... otherwise I guess you are in big trouble.
